The TV series itself gets even better in Season 3 with multiple interesting story arcs, like what's below the town of Eureka. The characters are more consistent and more enjoyable. Sadly, for the improvements in the stories and characters, the packaging takes a bad step when they decide to go with half-seasons. Even on sale, they cost the same as full seasons of other shows and there aren't as many extras. Good thing for us that we have all of the episodes from Season 3 onward on our DVR, although that's not much good for anyone else.
What's great about it: The story-telling & characterization improves & stabilizes
What's not so great: A very bad, greedy decision to start selling half-seasons
This set contains every episode from the first season of Eureka, a sci-fi series about a put-upon sheriff (Colin Ferguson) of a town inhabited by the best scientists in the world who are constantly creating gadgets to help the government and the military.

This is a fun Science Fiction series about a town of geniuses and the inventions they create. The geniuses are high in intelligence but not so much in common sense. That's where the new sheriff, Jack Carter, comes in. He's not as smart but much more practical about things. If this doesn't sound like a strongly positive review then I'm not doing the series justice because it's very good although a little uneven in this first Season.
What's great about it: An interesting concept of intelligence vs. wisdom
What's not so great: A little uneven storey-wise, like most series in their 1st Season
This set contains every episode from the second season of Eureka, a sci-fi series about a put-upon sheriff (Colin Ferguson) of a town inhabited by the best scientists in the world who are constantly creating gadgets to help the government and the military.

Season 1 of Eureka was very good and interesting at times but was a little uneven. In Season 2 the series starts to hit its stride and gets better and more consistent. My wife didn't care that much for the series in Season 1 but really started enjoying it in Season 2.
What's great about it: A fun Science Fiction series with interesting characters
What's not so great: Still a little uneven but an improvement over Season 1
This two disc release from the quirky series Eureka offers all 10 episodes of the show's 3.5's season, following the fantastical adventures of Carter, a sheriff in a town where strange happenings are totally normal.

This is one of our favorite shows. Season 3 was very enjoyable but you're only getting half of it here. We're thankful that we've got all of seasons 3 - 5 on our DVR because there's no way we'd buy half-seasons of any show for full-season prices! Even the sale prices are effectively double those of other full-season shows. The special features aren't as good as full-season collections of other shows, either.
What's great about it: Interesting concepts & great characters
What's not so great: The DVD packaging in half-seasons
This two disc release from the quirky series Eureka offers all 20 episodes of the show's fourth season, following the fantastical adventures of Carter, a sheriff in a town where strange happenings are totally normal, even when the community's resident geniuses are all hoisted back in time.

This is one of our favorite TV shows and they introduced some interesting twists in Season 4 which are still around in Season 5. Fortunately, we've got most of the series on our DVR because there's no way that we're going to pay these prices for half-seasons! Comparable TV shows cost the same amount for full seasons so this is double the price. Unless the prices drop even further, we can't recommend this to anyone.
What's great about it: Interesting concepts & great characters
What's not so great: Half-seasons of the show being sold for full-season prices
