A lesser known but still great Philip K Dick adaptation, the adjustment bureau looks great on blu Ray and the action is fast paced. Emily Blunt is great in this movie

Nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture, and Winner of two, including Best Director for John Ford, THE GRAPES OF WRATH comes to Blu-ray for the first time! This American classic based on John Steinbeck's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel follows Tom Joad (Henry Fonda in an Oscar-Nominated role) and his family as they escape the Depression-era Oklahoma dust bowls for the promised land of California. But the arduous trip and harsh living conditions offer little hope, and family unity proves as daunting a challenge as any other they face.

Twelve O'Clock High Blu-ray offers solid video and great audio in this exceptional Blu-ray release. Drama involving a general's concern for his men's morale while heading up the operations of a bombing squadron from a base in Chelveston, England, during the early part of WWII

Battle of Britain
on July 24, 2016

A powerful, colourful and star-studded re-creation of the epic 1940 battle that took place in the skies over England. Surprised and understaffed, the British forces used determination and guile to valiantly hold off the superior forces of the German Luftwaffe in the early days of World War II. If England had lost, the Germans may very well have won the war. The incredible cast includes Michael Caine, Robert Shaw, Curt Jurgens, and Laurence Olivier, in a no-expense-spared production featuring stunning airborne dog-fight sequences.

I was hoping this blu-ray would be as good as The Sound of Music, but it's not so. It's not a big deal because Fiddler's blu-ray video and audio is still excellent. The video quality is very impressive - sharp, tons of detail, good color. Bright day scenes really stand out as expected. While darker and/or night scenes get a tiny bit grainy (which is perfectly fine if you like grain). The video is pretty clean and spotless expect for right after the intermission scenes when some black ovals pop up on the screen (it's so quick, it's not really an issue, but they do show up). During some of the overcast day scenes with the sky in the background, there is a slight wavy effect that ripples across the sky (once again, it's barely noticable, but it's there). The 7.1 DTS-HD audio rocks for a 1971 film - totally satisfied with the work they did on the audio - clear and active. The volume does increase a bit whenever someone starts singing.

This release includes every episode from season one of The Last Ship, a series about a pandemic that wipes out most of the world, leaving the crew of a naval ship to deal with their new reality as potentially being the last humans left on earth.

Bought this for my dad, he's a navy guy; he really enjoyed it, the premise is kinda similar to a lot of the doomsday tv out there but focused on a ship captain and crew

The Longest Day is a re creation of the D-Day invasion. Whenever possible, the original locations were utilized, and an all star international cast impersonates the people involved, from high ranking officials to ordinary GIs. Each actor speaks in his or her native language with subtitles translating for the benefit of the audience (alternate 'takes' were made of each scene with the foreign actors speaking English, but these were seen only during the first network telecast of the film in 1972). The stars are listed alphabetically, with the exception of John Wayne, who as Lt. Colonel Vandervoort gets separate billing. Others in the huge cast include Eddie Albert, Jean-Louis Barrault, Richard Burton, Red Buttons, Sean Connery, Henry Fonda, Gert Frobe, Curt Jurgens, Peter Lawford, Robert Mitchum, Kenneth More, Edmond O'Brien, Robert Ryan, Jean Servais, Rod Steiger and Robert Wagner. Paul Anka, who wrote the film's title song, shows up as an Army private. Scenes include the Allies parachuting into Ste. Mere Englise, where the paratroopers were mowed down by German bullets; a real life sequence wherein the German and Allied troops unwittingly march side by side in the dark of night; and a spectacular three minute overhead shot of the troops fighting and dying in the streets of Quistreham. The last major black and white road show attraction.

Winner of seven 1970 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor for George C. Scott, Patton is a riveting portrayal of one of the twentieth centurys greatest military geniuses. As rebellious as he was brilliant, George Patton (Scott) was the only general truly feared by the Nazis, yet his own volatile personality was the one enemy he could never defeat. 1970 Best Picture, Directing, Actor (George C. Scott), Writing, Film Editing, Art Direction, Sound.

Tora! Tora! Tora! is the Japanese signal to attack - and the movie meticulously recreates the attack on Pearl Harbor and the events leading up to it. Opening scenes contrast the American and Japanese positions. Japanese imperialists decide to stage the attack. Top U.S. brass ignore it's possibility. Intercepted Japanese messages warn of it - but never reach F.D.R.'s desk. Radar warnings are disregarded. Even the entrapment of a Japanese submarine in Pearl Harbor before the attack goes unreported. Ultimately the Day of Infamy arrives - in the most spectacular, gut-wrenching cavalcade of action-packed footage ever. You'll see moments of unsurpassed spectacle and heroism U.S. fighters trying to take off and being hit as they taxi; men blasted from the decks of torpedoed ships while trying to rescue buddies; savage aerial dogfights pitting lone American fliers against squadrons of Imperial war planes. It's the most dazzling recreation of America's darkest day - and some of her finest hours.
