Great movie set at a great price

I loved Rocky movie growing up. The first three movies I think are the best in the series and the blu ray transfer takes it a step further. Would have been nice if there was a space included for Creed coming to blu ray but Creed actually stands out on its own.

Finally coming to your Galaxy on BLU RAY

Having been(and still am) a Star Wars fan for over 30 years since seeing Episode IV in 1977 I can't wait to see the blu rays. Understandably these are the remasters and not the origanal versions for IV,V,VI and while this is disapointing , why does it matter? Its a movie!!! To be totally honest the way movies are marketed the origanals will most likely come later on Blu Ray like all other studios do because of the damand, Lord of the Rings comes to mind most recently when they released the extended versions a year after they released the origanals because die hard fans wanted the ext versions not the theatrical versions. If this was the only factor why someone would not want to buy the Blu Ray now that is truely sad.
What's great about it: BEST SCI FI IN HISTORY
What's not so great: Origanals for IV V VI not included for Die Hard Fans.

Season 7 brings all issues 1-7 full circle.

This season just ended and already on DVD and for the first time BLU RAY!!!
Beside the first and second seasons, this one by far had some of the best acting as well as a well planned out script. Anyone who is a fan on 24 knows that although Tony and Jack worked together in the past at CTU, they were far from friends and this season the writers really acted on this plus answering a lot on questions related to the deaths of major players since the early seasons like President Palmer and Michelle. We also lost some good characters this season but as they have said in the past, all bets are off when it comes to survival on this show even Jack himself who has never been closer to death then at the end of season 7. If you have a Blu Ray player, get this show.
What's great about it: Lots of answered questions, replaced with more unanswered.
What's not so great: waiting for a new season.

Star Trek TOS The Way it was ment to be seen

I reluctantly went along and bought the Blu Ray collection since I already owned the 2004 complete series and I could not believe that the source tapes from over 40 years ago could have been polished enough to warrant spending more , that’s why I said reluctant . I started out with The Menagerie since The Cage was NOT on this set . This is a typo on the Best Buy site and for all you non Trekkies out there the biggest difference in the both these films is the costumes were not perfected and some of the crew members were slightly different as Majel Barrett and Leonard Nimoy swapped roles. Beside this small flaw that Paramount decided not to add, there is a minimal amount of graininess at times which is for forgivable , again coming from source tapes over 40 years ago. For anyone out there that may doubt spending the money if you have all the DVDs already all I can say is you have to see this with your own eyes.
What's great about it: Beautiful in ever sense of the word !!!
What's not so great: The original Pilot " The Cage" is not included, some discs easily come out of the holder.

S.E. Version is worth every penny.

Battlestar Galactica 4.0 gets us closer to home , a promotion for Lee Adama and unfortunately Laura Roslin becomes more ill. The writers also decided to let go of Cally ... literally. I loved Cally because she brought an innocence to show and was a great character . The final season is only a few weeks away and so far this Battlestar Galactica has been so much better to watch then the 70's version and will not let you down. The new Battlestar Galactica has a great cast, great writing and one thing the 70's did not have... Guts.
What's great about it: Nice special edition also includes Razor

Reba and family is back in season 5
on January 14, 2009

Some of the best acting and comedy is in season 5 which includes the Halloween episode Best Li'l Haunted House in Texas where the family gets back at Reba and the episode Parenting with Puppets where Brock takes Van to a day spa to relax . Steve Howey make me laugh so hard my side aches and Mellissa Peterman is such a nut it really is hard to hate her as the other woman . Also this season Brock has to pass a kidney and Cheyenne gives a geriatric group beauty tips. Can’t help but to laugh from any of these fine Actors/Actresses. Sadly only one season left to a great comedy.
What's great about it: Reba
What's not so great: no dvd extras bloopers, etc.

Bond is Best in blu
on December 18, 2008

Being that For Your Eyes Only came out in 1981 I was a little reluctant to purchase a movie that was way before high def was even thought of. In fact over the past 20 years I bought all the Bond films on DVD three times after it was re released several times and remember paying 59.99 per disk back in 1990 on regular DVD which had half the quality. This Blu ray is perfect and I can’t wait to buy the rest on Blu and hopefully 6 more to follow in the spring. FOR DVD OWNERS ONLY ! If you have doubted upgrading your collection like I did, do yourself a favor and try at least one . You’ll be surprised after almost 30 years just how amazing this looks and sounds .
What's great about it: Flawless picture, excellent sound quality
What's not so great: Not all bond films are in blu ray...yet!

Mash: Martinis & Medicine Collection
on August 27, 2008

30 years later this show is still considered one of the most watched TV shows of all time and there’s not a day that goes by that somewhere , any day , Mash is still on the air . One might ask, why bother buying the series when you can still watch it on TV? For one reason , you can pick and chose which episodes you want to watch at any time , next there's always the quality of a digital picture and although the disks are in the original mono playback , there wasn’t many special effects in the show in those days so 5.1 surround is not a big deal. One of the better packages in respect to TV full series collections and also has a complete photo album booklet as well. This was a show that had everything , from the writers to the infamous cast that ran for 11 years which includes the most watched series finally of over 100 million viewers Goodbye , Farewell, Amen which still stands today .
What's great about it: A classic that stands the test of time.
What's not so great: mono not remastered in stereo
