New washers require new hoses. Unfortunately, they have to be bought in addition to the machine. These stainless steel hoses are flexible and do the job quite well. My old ones may have done just fine, but that was not an option.

Buy a front loader if you need large capacity.

I bought a 4.8 cf to replace a 4.5 cf similar washer made by Whirlpool that lasted 7 years.This machine looks great, is quiet and cleans well. I like that it holds my settings.. The problem is I bought it for the large capacity to wash comforters, sheets and towels, but it often becomes unbalanced if I use it for these items. (This did not happen with the smaller machine. ) Also the added depth makes it more difficult to get the small items at the bottom.
