Cant do it without breaking the ground piece off. Not recommended.

Will i be able to connect this from my tablet to my TV to be able to play videos and movies?
I want to be able to play a movie on my tablet and connect it to my TV via this cord to play the movie. Will this cord work for that?
No, this is for USB only, you would need an HDMI cable that plugs into the usb port on your tablet. You could also use a Chromecast to do it wirelessly.

What are limits for upgrading memory? I current have 512MB of PC2700 DDR SDRAM memory (333 MHz) on one of two slots in my Compaq Presario SR1055CL . Can I go to 2 x 1 GB?

You would need to check the specs with HP/Compaq. They will tell you a maximum ram amount for that system. Keep in mind that typically laptops have 2 slots, so you would need to divide the maximum ram amount by 2 to match the ports.
For example:
Your laptop has a Max Ram of 2gb
This means the Max Ram per Slot is 1GB.
If you try to put one 2gb stick in one slot, it will not work as that would be 4gb Max Ram total.
