What else is there to say. One of the best Christmas movies ever made. Will Ferrell at his best and a great movie for the whole family. If you haven't seen this, where have you been?! We start watching ELF months before Christmas and probably watch it 5-10 times a year. So many quotable 1-liners make this movie enjoyable every time we watch! Thanks Mr. Narwhal!

Great video security option

We wanted to add security cameras to our home without have to run the bnc cable all over the house and terminate at a server, so Ring has been a great alternative for us. We started with the Ring Pro but couldn't get it to connect, so we swapped it out and all has been well since. Video is very clear and the 2-way audio is easy to understand on both ends. We have had some streaming issues which aren't the fault of our network (1GB fiber service, Asus AC1900 & Ubiquiti AC PRO AP). For whatever reason, I can speed test no less than 700/700 at the Ring Doorbell location on my iPhone, but the camera is only seeing 10/70. We have a Chime Pro on the way to see if that corrects the low speed issue, but who knows. Either way, we are very pleased overall with the Ring family of security products (Also have 2 Floodlight Cams) and their video subscription pricing blows NEST out of the water, it's soooo much cheaper. I think it's $30/camera/year up to 3 cameras. After 3 cameras, it's a flat $100 for the service. I couldn't recommend this enough to friends looking for an easy and efficient way to video/voice monitor their front porch/door areas of their homes.

This is a great performance by Brad Pitt and the movie has good rewatch value. The story carries well through the movie with only a couple of slow/dry spots in the acting & dialog. Overall good performance by all.

Absolute BARGAIN for 4K

If you've read ANY reviews of the TCL P-Series, rest assured they are correct. This 55" 4K stands well-above any Sony, Samsung or LG in it's price point, and easily competes with models to the $1,500 price-point, although obviously excluding OLED models. Paired with a Sony X800 4K HDR player, and even the XBOX One S, this display absolutely blows me away. The HDR & Dolby Vision were clear advantages of this model over many others and they are perfectly executed on the P605. Between the price, HDR, Dolby Vision and built-in Roku, this is a no-brainer unless you absolutely have to have Samsung, Sony, LG or another major-brand name on the display. We replaced a Samsung plasma with this model and it was the first worthy (again, considering price point) replacement. Yes, I wanted an OLED like everyone else, but when you can get the performance of this display, plus have money to add a 4K player (again, the Sony X800), along with a ton of 4K movies...you will still spend less for this entire set-up than just buying the OLED and nothing else. Simply put, it's all about bang-for-your-buck here. Sure, there are some shortcomings of the TV, and you do have to work at the settings to tweak the colors, brightness, noise reduction, dynamic contrast, etc...BUT, once it's dialed, it truly is amazing. Please don't pass on this TV based on what you see in the store. This model is usually hung up with the other junk TV's in a very bright section of the store, and probably not even turned on. This model is one of the best values in current/next-gen home theater tech around. Paired with a quality 4K player and HDMI 2.0 cables (but not an overpriced AudioQuest cable), you won't have any regrets. I had the budget for a Sony 900/903e and chose the TCL + the Sony X800 player and some movies. IN NO WAY do I feel like I sacrificed any image or quality. At $599, this TV should be at the top of your list if you're looking for a 55".
Lastly, regarding refresh rate, YES, THIS IS A 60Hz....BUT, I'm coming from a plasma which is essentially the best you can get for refresh/motion. I see NO DIFFERENCE with the TCL. I streamed college football, played Forza 6 and watched countless GoPro 4K YouTube videos on this display and NOTHING lags, drags or chases. Literally no idea how this 60Hz performs like a 120, but it does. Again, I can't sing enough praises of this TCL P-Series. Just check it out, you will be very glad you did.

Clearly, not much needs to be said about this console, so I won't get into the details. I grew up with a SNES and still have my original, along with all my games & accessories. This SNES Classic makes it easier for me to play the games I loved from my SNES without worrying with unpacking my original, hooking up all the extra cables, then repacking it when I'm done. If you can find one, buy it.

So, I'll be blunt. We have 3 Echo Dot's in our home and each one is very valuable for it's location. In the living room, our Dot is connected to a larger Pioneer AirPlay speaker via aux cable. We are able to stream Pandora or Amazon music at a very high volume & great quality with this setup. We also use this location to control our smart devices light lights & thermostat. In the bedroom, we use the Dot's built in speaker for weather updates, alarms & sleep music. In our theater, I have connected Dot to IFTTT and the Logitech Harmony Ultimate Home hub, which by voice, can control all the devices in the room. I can say, 'Alexa, turn on the xbox', and my projector, amp, xbox 1 all come on. Once we move to smart switches in the theater, I can also control the lighting. Overall, Alexa via the Dot is the best way to add an AI assistant to your home. For $49 (or the sale prices of around $35) they are a no brainer). There is simply no-need for the larger Echo, unless you have no-other speaker you can connect a Dot to. The Echo speaker is OK, but nothing compared to being plugged into an AV system, a nicer bluetooth spear like the UE Boom, Marshall Stanmore or an AirPlay speaker like the Pioneer that we have. With so many new features being added weekly, Alexa is crushing Siri & Google Home.

My wife has been wanting a dedicated waffle maker so we could give our George Forman a break. This is the perfect size to leave out on weekends and put up when not in use. It's easy to use, gives great results and is overall a quality waffle maker for light to medium use. Of course, it's not built like an industrial/hotel make, but it isn't suppose to be. Be gentle with the handle and you'll get years of great service.

I was lucky enough to land a NES Classic a few days before Christmas. I was on break from work, so a buddy & I camped out for it. I was first in line and it reminded me of being a kid on Christmas in 1985 again when I got the original NES. Defiantly love the idea Nintendo has here, and it's a blast to play. I can't say anything more about the console than what you already know, so I'll just say that for $60, you will love this system. Sure, there are a couple dud-games, but for me, this is a great way to casually come in from work, play for 30 minutes or so, then get back to adult life. I can relive my childhood and it's very easy to take with me if I decided to travel with it.

This headset was only needed for Battlefield, and I didn't/don't need a full surround sound headset, as my theater is a 9.3 system. This is perfect for chatting with friends while playing Battlefield/COD, and that's all I wanted. For the $15, it's not bad. Probably could be a 5-star item but the ear pad is just a little small so it wobbles a bit if not perfectly centered. If it was an around the ear, it would be 5-star. Again, it's $15, so keep that in mind.
