Fast-Paced Splat-Em Up

Splatoon 2 is quite the addictive experience in that the gameplay is fairly simple, yet entirely immersive. The multiplayer sessions are quick and exciting. It's very easy to jump in to almost any online mode and connect with friends through the Switch. (The smartphone chat app, however, leaves me wanting something a bit more robust. I hope Nintendo responds to player feedback to better integrate it seamlessly down the road.) The various matches in this game are reminiscent of a real-world paintball war, but without the physical bruising, of course. The character and level designs are both artful and quirky, as they should be given the unique premise. I have to say, as someone who never played the first iteration, I'm really enjoying this.

The cover itself is well designed to fit around the Switch tablet. It'll certainly do the job while you're on the go. The only downside I can see is that it does not fit as snugly as you would expect. Also, it must be taken off the tablet in order for the console to be placed in docked mode. Overall, though, I think it's worth the purchase, especially for those who wish to prevent his or her Switch from being damaged.

I cannot wait to see what Nintendo does with this latest hardware as they gradually flesh out the user interface and as more software becomes available. The possibilities are endless if they play their cards right. I thoroughly enjoy being able SWITCH back and forth between playing on the big screen and throwing it in a backpack to take with me on the go. The variety of gameplay styles distinguishes it from the competition from Sony and Microsoft. Once the market is inundated with these things, third-party-software developers will have no excuse for creating exclusive content for it. From a business perspective, it just makes sense. I very much like the stance of this amiibo figurine. It's based on a particular in-game attack a player can pull off in the latest Legend of Zelda entry. I specifically like that the Guardian arrow was used with his bow. As you would imagine, you can acquire arrows and other useful in-game items with this amiibo.
