The speakers sound great

The sound quality us good. Although the surround sound functionality seems problematic. Definitely use the optical connection or HDMI over Blutooth.
The downside- the installation instructions stink. I just Googled my TV and installing speakers. The instructions for the remote seemed to be for a different remote. Download the manual from LG's website. It will help you figure out the LEDs in the front as well.

I could not be happier with this purchase. The picture quality is amazing and the blacks are very, very rich. I especially like the simplicity of the remote and the menus. Switching between inputs is smooth and easy, the controls are very intuitive. For example, if I simply turn on my PS4 it switches the video AND sound to the PS4 automatically. All the sound runs through the TV so you only have to switch the input and everything happens automatically. I can also use all my devices through my surround sound now. I am able to stream Netflix 4k over my wifi with no loading issues. I can't think of one bad thing to say about this TV.

I do not have any existing sound system. Do I need an amplifier like the traditional sound systems need?
No, plugs into tv if you have optical, HDMI, usb, or Bluetooth.

Does it include two rear speakers?
Yes. There's a powered wireless rear receiver that needs to.be plugged in. Then the 2 rears connect to it wired. I ended up plugging it in behind my couch and wall mounting the speakers below the top of the couch to hide the wires. All you need to mount the speakers is a flat headed screw, they are small and slotted.
