Not incredible, but enjoyable

I had heard a lot of complaints about The Wolverine before I saw it. So, going into the movie, I was not expecting a lot. But I've watched all of the X-Men related movies, and I didn't want to miss this one. People mentioned that the extended edition of the movie improved a bit over the theatrical version of the movie. I went out of my way to try to find this version of the movie. And honestly, I enjoyed it. It's not the best movie ever. It's not even the best X-Men movie. But it's fun. It has solid cinematography, great characterization, excellent special effects, and a decent story. I think if you go into the movie with low expectations, it's pretty easy to enjoy it.

Phenomenal movie; mediocre release

The Fifth Element is a fantastic movie, worth seven stars. The movie itself looks and sounds great on this blu-ray disc. The only reason this release warranted four stars, rather than five stars, is the lack of special features. Before this blu-ray was released, Fifth Element was released on DVD in an "Ultimate Edition," with tons of special features. Not a single one of these features made it to the blu-ray release. It makes absolutely no sense to me at all. It would have been incredibly easy to put the features on the blu-ray disc; even if they weren't blu-ray quality. This leads me to believe that, at some point in the future, the movie will be re-released with all of the special features.
If you just want the movie, you can't go wrong with this. The video and audio quality are fantastic. If you want special features, don't waste your money on this disc.

Fun, campy, ridiculous movie

Pacific Rim is a ridiculous movie. It crosses that line of so-bad-it's-great. The acting is a little silly. The story is really silly. There is quite a bit of entirely superfluous story content. It's pretty. The action scenes are pretty good. There are times where everything is moving so quickly, and the camera is so shaky, that it becomes difficult to make out what is happening on the screen. But those times are fairly infrequent. Most of the time, things look great.
The movie is a lot of fun. It's worth seeing. But I wouldn't suggest paying a lot of money for it.
