More balanced sound over previous version. Bass is cleaner with better mids and highs. Good battery life but I still prefer removable battery to the rechargeable one. Good value under $150.00. They fit my big head well and the padding is excellent and keeps them comfortable for hours. Fold nicely for travel and the hard case, included, is nice.

amplified headset

I'd like to buy a headset with build in amplifier to use with a Kindle. My problem is the Kindle does not put out a high enough sound level to be very useful with unamplified headsets.
Mike, you don't want a built in amplifier. Get a fiio amp to pump up the volume.

I got a pair of Bose headphones as a gift, the right earcup has since failed, could I get them repaired?

They're a pair of Bose QC25 headphones, but the right earcup has stopped producing any sound, and the manufacturer warranty has run out since.
Some Bose products are excellent. Headphones are not one of them. Trash the Bose and buy a pair of AT mx50s.
