Can you watch movies saved to it from the computer if you plug it into a smart tv?
it is just an external drive -- if I map my windows media player to it, I can watch right off of it; but typically the external drive is backup for me and I pull movies forward to the pc to watch -- seems faster direct from the pc

Is this compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 8.1?
The reason that I'm asking is that I have a Seagate external hard drive that I used to back up my computer that just crashed that had Windows XP on it. I now have a computer with Windows 8.1 on it. When I went to transfer my files from my Seagate external hard drive to my new computer with Windows 8.1, the Seagate is NOT compatible with Windows 8.1 so I had to manually transfer my files and I lost ALL of my emails because no one seems to know how to manually transfer them to my new computer. Whenever my new computer crashes, I would like to know that the WD external hard drive will be compatible with Windows 10 system.
using it fine on windows 8 - have had no problems; did not try yet on 10

saw other posts saying it works for xbox so if you have usb available, I see no reason not to try it

used it only for windows -- but there are not two different models so if you have a usb to your mac, I do not see why not.....

Can this be used on the PS4?
I see many say it works on Xbox One, but not many responses if it works for PS4. Can this run just as well in a PS4 as it does with an Xbox One?
did not try it myself but it uses a usb cable and is just an external drive. Cannot see why not....

yes. same size and everything -- could put them on a book shelf !

I will want to do that at some point.
I did not open it up -- just using in right out of the box and love it
