Great GPS but Camera is Lacking

Overall this is a great GPS with excellent features. However, since I bought it for the camera, I was disappointed when I went to mount it in my car. On my previous Garmin GPS with camera, the camera was offset to the driver side allowing the use of the dash mount. However, on this unit the camera has been moved to the centerline of the unit so that the dash mount coming up from the bottom blocks the camera. You can ONLY use the suction cup mount coming down from above. And my long term experience with the suction cup is that it loses suction no matter what I try to do allowing the GPS to fall to the dash or floor or dangle from the power cord if it is looped over the mirror as mine is. I love GARMIN but they blew it on the design of this unit.

Convient buy not powerful

You cannot beat the convenience factor of this unit. I have a dog that sheds and I use it to pickup the hair on a wood floor which it does an "adequate" job of using the wood floor tool. However the suction is nothing like it is with the one with the ball. A small piece of paper plugged it up. What is REALLY convenient is using it on stairs and upholstery. Just remove the long tube and you have a great handheld vac. All in all I am satisfied, except for the price, once I learned what I could and could not pickup with it.

Tower unit on its side?
I'm planning to use this 1500 tower style battery back up in my entertainment cabinet. Can I use the tower unit if is it laying on its side instead of standing up?
I did not check the manual but I would be very careful because it has a battery inside and all batteries have acid in them. Even if the top is sealed completely on the battery I would worry that over time it could develop a leak. Best case would be to contact the manufacturer and ask this question.

I have 1 desktop computer and an iPad,lots of pics and lots of music. What back up system would you recommend ?
This one should have more than enough capacity. Add up the amp rating for each device and multiply it times 120 Volts to determine the load. Or if you have the wattage simply add that up. A watt - 1 Amp x 1 Volt.

I have a projector that pulls 14 amps would this ups work or would I need another one?
I would not recommend this one. The rating is 1500 volt-amps. If you have a 14 amp device running on 120 volt power you are pulling 1680 volt-amps (14 x 120) which is over the rating. Having said that, does your projector actually pull 14 amps or is that the rating? In any case, to be safe I would buy a higher capacity unit.
