I was concerned the Nest might not be compatible with my 100 year old hot water / radiator heating system, not to mention that there are only two wires leading to the thermostat. A friend has the same configuration, and he told me not to worry. Well - it works! Our central AC system has a separate thermostat in another part of the house. It would be nice if Nest would develop a wireless connection so one thermostat could operate both systems.

I found this kit in BB's online clearance center, so the price was right. I have it wired to my Denon 4100, driving two small surround height speakers. The base unit is about 40 feet from the receiving unit. It's a clear line of sight, so I don't know if the signal would be affected if it needed to go around a corner. Pairing worked quickly, and the connection resets after the power is shut off on either end. I have no clue how it works - but apparently, without an amp, this unit powers the speakers. Volume goes up and down along with the wired speakers. Maybe there's a small amp in the receiving unit. It performs as predicted.
