a very realistic look at how things must have been in that time, living under the rule of a king, fighting for your freedom, and dieing for what you believe in.people that you think are loyal will turn on you, but they will not be able to live with the guilt that they feel for betraying you, but in the end the sacrifice you pay will make things better for all the people who come after you including your own children, in in the case of this movie that child will grow up to be king or queen,and rule in peace.

What's great about it: best part was that the queen got pregnant by brave heart
What's not so great: that brave hearts girl friend had to die
