Plumpeach's Reviews

Classic Disney animation meets contemporary urban chaos when a frightened princess is banished from her magical animated homeland to modern-day New York City in a romantic comedy penned by Bill Kelly (Blast from the Past), directed by Kevin Lima (Tarzan), and featuring music by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz. Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) lives in the blissful cartoon world of Andalasia, where magical beings frolic freely and musical interludes punctuate every interaction. Though Princess Giselle is currently engaged to be married to the handsome Prince Edward (James Marsden), her fate takes a turn for the worse when the villainous Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) banishes her to the unforgiving metropolis of New York City. As the cruelty of the big city soon begins to wear down the fairy-tale exterior of the once-carefree princess, the frightened Giselle soon finds herself falling for a friendly but flawed divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) whose kind compassion helps her to survive in this strange and dangerous new world.

Excellent Family Movie!

I wasn't that interested in this movie at first, but my family convinced me to watch it with them. I was pleasantly surprised by the humor and cleverness of this Disney movie. I also enjoyed the singing as it would be classified as a musical. Of course my family loved it, and we ended up watching it twice in two days!
The high definition picture and sound was also top notch.
What's great about it: Great movie for families and the Blu-ray presentation makes it even better.
What's not so great: None

Excellent Movie!

I had heard about this movie around Oscar time and decided to try it. I was very impressed with the acting and plot. George Clooney did a nice job in a role that is a little unusual for him. Tilda Swinton was also excellent in her award winning role. Some may call the movie slow, but I really like how it came together at the end.
What's great about it: Great movie and outstanding high definition picture.
What's not so great: NONE

One of the funniest!

This is one of my favorite comedies of all time! Yes, it was lewd and crude but that only adds to the hilarity. Some compare it to American Pie, but I don't think it's even close. Superbad is so much more than American Pie on so many different levels. If you're looking for something extremely funny, you can't go wrong with McLovin and his friends!
What's great about it: Tremendously funny and full of extras!
What's not so great: The only one is the movie had to end!
I would recommend this to a friend!
