Pretty funny but nothing special

A lot of people who rag on the movie didn't even seem to have watched it and only did so because of Schumer being such a divisive figure. The movie is pretty funny, but most of the laughs come from the supporting players. It's still nice to see Hawn back on the screen after a much too long absence.

Bizarre, nightmarish horror

Kudos to Fox for putting a ton of money into this completely bizarre, non-mainstream horror movie. It's absolutely beautiful to look at and is filled with nightmarish imagery. It blows my mind this was a studio film in 2017. Don't let the run time scare you off; I found myself wrapped up in the story and before I knew it over two hours had gone by. Its box office performance tells me we're not going to see one like this again for a long time, and that's a shame.

John Goodman at his best

This is a great little claustrophobic thriller, where the audience will be left on edge not knowing who's really who. John Goodman delivers a menacing performance in which he is alternately terrifying and sympathetic. The connections to the original Cloverfield are tenuous at best, but it's still a crowd pleaser. Listen for Bradley Cooper in an audio cameo early in the film.

Michael Bay's best film

Almost identical to the original

If you're going to remake a film, do your own thing to make it different enough from the original 1982 film. This remake, while offering good performances, is practically a carbon copy of the original, save for technological updates and one slight character change. This is fine, but the original still holds up. Watch that one instead.

Sam Raimi Returns

Sam Raimi returns to horror (his first since 1992's Army of Darkness) after directing the Spider-Man trilogy is a great one. This is slick B-horror at its best. Filled with all of Sam Raimi's trademark camera work and dark humor, this is a modern classic. The unrated version offers a little extra blood and gore in a few scenes, as well as a few alternate shots that were cut from the PG-13 for one reason or another.

Ink doesn't last long

I bought an Epson after reading a lot of reviews that talked about how great they were, but they are not good on ink at all. The printer requires five separate cartridges and the printer won't print AT ALL if one if empty. And these suckers go fast. The print quality is fine, but be prepared to have a lot of extras on hand.
