Every since I saw DISTRICT 9, I couldn't help but be impressed by Neill Blomkamp's creativity, drive, and vision as a director. I've enjoyed all of his movies so far, and I'm hoping the short movies in his Oats Studios program will someday be expanded in fellow big-budget movies as well.
Now, if we can just get HIM to direct the TRANSFORMERS movies, then we'll REALLY have something...

You have to give this movie its props for authenticity. Back in 1977, this probably is how the public would react to an actual, peaceful alien contact with the world. That is, before the world became the darker, more fearful and paranoid world it is now.
It's also authentic in how it shows the chaos and ugliness of a disintegrating marriage, and the strain it places on not only the parents, but the near-hysteria their children can suffer.

A little movie called "Star Wars" debuted May 25, 1977. And it changed everything.
40 years later, it's not only still remembered, but it's going strong with prequels, sequels, you name it...and the story of the Skywalker family isn't over yet.
And as much as I enjoyed this movie, I can't wait to see how it ends.

I've been following this show since the beginning, and it's bittersweet that now it's nearly over. This is easily one of the greatest TV shows of all time, everyone involved always brings their A-game to everything they do, and I have absolutely NO IDEA how it could all end.
But one thing's for sure; if they can keep the momentum going, it's going to be a grand finale. Bring on 2019!

My second-favorite Xmas movie absolutely NAILS the feeling of being a kid at Christmas trying to get that ONE PERFECT GIFT, accept no substitutes. Having a younger sibling who only exists to annoy you; having parents who JUST DON'T GET IT; dealing with bullies day in, day out; watching your friends dare each other to do stupid things just because...so familiar. I didn't grow up back in the thirties or the forties, but this movie is timeless that way.
And on another note, it amazes me that this movie is directed by the same guy who directed both Porky's and Black Christmas. That's some kind of range!

It doesn't matter how many times I've seen it, I still love watching this movie every Christmas. The season just doesn't feel right without watching The Life and Times of George Bailey (and The Amazing Clarence). And now that I have it on Blu-Ray, I don't have to wait for network or cable TV to cooperate with me.
Besides, I kinda miss how, in the old days, they'd show the heck out of this during the entire month of December on TV.

I bought this movie sight unseen out of curiosity. Given that it takes place about seventy years ago, it's like a whole different world. I will admit that Edmund Gwenn is a very convincing, very charming Santa Claus, but in the end, 'It's A Wonderful Life' is still my favorite Xmas movie.
I do think it's a heck of a coincidence that William Frawley appears in both movies, though. If you don't know who that is, he played Fred Mertz on 'I Love Lucy.'

Will this be compatible with my AMD FX(tm) 4300 Quad Core Processor? It will replace my GT610.
I don't know if it's incompatible with that particular brand of computer. But I think there's a way to check that on your own; just compare the anchoring points for your current video card with what you see for the new card. If they match, it'll at least physically fit in there (that tripped me up once years ago).
If you're still not sure, then you could check with the new card's manufacturer and see if there is or isn't any kind of conflict.
ALSO: make sure your computer's current power supply can handle the new card. I had to upgrade the power supply on mine to accommodate the new card.
