The grandparents bought this (OK so I did it for them) as a Christmas present and the kids really like it. It may be a little advanced....might want to be at least 12 or older to truly enjoy.
What's great about it: Good sons to start with......
What's not so great: Kind of expensive ($140) for a piece of gear that will not be used daily
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

need help choosing a television

For bedroom use, don't have HDTV in this room. Which type TV will give me best picture with standard Direct TV line.
Hard to beat Sony Bravia. I just purchased a 32" for bedroom use and the picture is incredible even in SD mode for normal viewing. I also recommend Samsung TVs as they have clear, crisp pictures as well. I bought a 19" for use in the kitchen recently also. No HD box connected to it and the picture is great.

Blue Ray compatibility

I have a Sony KDL-V32XBR1 TV that handles 1080i and Onkyo TX-DS575X AV receiver.

Will this equipment give me the ability to get Blue Ray quality if I buy a Blue Ray player?

If not what do I need to buy to upgrade?

Thanks,

Sal
The TV will be fine. The receiver will depend on the connections on the back. If it has an HDMI connection you will be fine.

whats the diffrence

what is the diffrence between a tv that is 30,000 to one that is 50,000 and what do those numbers mean
The number of pixels. The higher the number the better it is supposed to be. I think after you get past a certain point our eyes do not see it. Some people believe in it however.

Set up?

Is the Wii difficult to set up? Im not very tech talented.
Not difficult to set up at all. Just a power cord and a cable that connects to your TV. The only challenge might be the Wii receiver that you should secure well; especially with kids around.
