Blazing Movie with an Off-Putting End

Don't want to ruin a good flick, I enjoyed every second. Lots of miss-direction and intrigue. And Lucy makes "Black Widow" look like a school girl. But the ending, first in my view sets up the sequel (in a rather bland way) and brings a great action movie to a screeching halt. If I could I would have taken off 1/2 star for the ending.... If you can, get the exclusive packaging, it has Lucy in 3 D sort of and is haunting!

Stop Gap Live Album

This is about a 40 minute CD, no bonus tracks. Only one of the whopping 6 tracks are an original Clapton song. Now I will admit "old Slowhand" ( would you not love to have such a cool nickname for yourself) shines on all the tracks. I do believe he is the proper executor of the flying blues digits left on earth by Robert Johnson (see "Ramblin' On My mind"), and he does a credible scha--WING on cousin Steve Windwood's "Can't Find My Way Back Home." However this CD is best purchased as a clearance or super deal. In my view 1 dollar (US) a song is plenty. Otherwise unless you are a collector of all things EC, splurge elsewhere...l....ah...I got it for $5...

I love the cover photo with late freakin' great Keith Moon seated on a chair with the prophetic ,"Not to be taken away," stenciled on it, in a horseman's outfit and cap. To me this CD was a very successful attempt at putting out a bunch of radio playlist classics....and it is! Who are you is a staple (obscenity or not) 30 plus years later. You get an alternative and Hot version with this disc in addition to the original cut. Sister Disco ironically rocks! And Love is Coming Down is the perfect bookend to any Who set ( or sweat?). Invest and enjoy,

Now that we have been enjoying the Who as a duo plus friends, superbly talented friends, but just
Pete and Roger as original founding members, it is hard (no pun intended) to look at "It's Hard" as only 3 of 4 founding members on board. I consider his a collection of great but historically B side tunes. But with the current version, you get bonus LIVE versions of "It's Hard" and "dangerous," & "Eminence Front" and an extra strength version of "Cry If You Want." Because in my view the bonus versions give these extra live songs the star airtime they deserve. You can't go back in time and make them new hits, I know what I like and the tunes under consideration are super, but only a few of which had even a sliver of limelight air time. Enjoy this bargain, the (perhaps) best you ever had!

Put this CD on in the car and beware, because your 3 year old will refuse to get out of the car until it is completely finished! Thank Goodness she hasn't figured the replay function in the car.......YET. Very pretty, very catchy tunes, childhood memories in the making. Get 2 copies (you WILL need a Backup when she feeds it to the dog....no harm done fortunately) and the production is so good you will love it as well......

Going For The YES Album!

Arguably "The Yes Album," and "Going For The One," are at least well on their way to being masterpieces and certainly ARE classics in a world of radio stations who play nothing but "Classic Rock!" This 2 cd one dvd set contains live renditions of the aforementioned albums in their original firing order. I just love slipping into a fine set of headphones and dreaming I'm in the YES road crew immersed in the angelic vocals and thundering bass with a Tad of fuzz gently sprinkled around the luxury of Yes keyboards. Note this is the current version of Yes that has been quite roadworthy and well received. I'm very ok with it all because sound quality is where it is at, along with a perceptible reverence of the music. The DVD seems OK, and worth a viewing. It is the (CD) sound that will cast a spell on you...enjoy!

A few years ago I got seats to see Air Supply with my closest (non-romantic) friend. I planned on sitting through the show and applauding politely, and smiling appropriately as she gushed over all the admittedly pretty and romantic songs being sung. I got th firm impression since the show was close to Valentine's Day that both our significant others were not happy we were going to a show of Love

Well I was very off base, it was a GREAT show filled with undeniably infectious hit songs, expertly sung and played with a crack band. After the show I was able to complement several of the guys on sleek vocals, and in particular the drummer. Imagine keeping the beat UP in a very soft rock band. A challenge he accepted with oh so great results.
This DVD captures so well the live experience of the pure joy of hit after hit remarkably rocking and rolling making you clap, sing and STOMP along regardless of the delicate nature of most of the set list.
Buy, do not rent this video. You (& yours) will enjoy it for years!
