In a single word, WRY. Think back to how they ended the "chee burger, chee burger, chee burger" skits on SNL and you will get this one. Worth a single watch, but just a bit too absurd to call "good" certainly not "great."

Technically best "super hero" flick I've seen.

If you are not a contemporary comic book reader, and have not had anyone tell you, there is a 10 minute or so unexpected plot twist that did not sit well with me, towards the end of the movie. And I recall friends that saw it in the theater telling me they didn't like "the movie," but did not tell me why. I in fact didn't see it in the theater as a result and waited for the DVD. Suffice it to say this is a spectacular piece of work from all angles except that 10 minutes. I thought about the bravery to write the script to flow as it did, and my conclusion is that I witnessed a very very brave plot choice, that stunned me, that actually DID accomplish what it set out to do. So well, invest in the disc. You will want to own this one.

Using the "F" word a zillion times over a relatively few songs is admittedly a gimmick. But the songs are strong, the vocals are screamingly sharp, and you will not hear many collections that fit together sonically as well.
What I am saying is, I found myself playing this disc in the car over and over, and as long as no "virgin ears" are present, it is a really fun listen.
If you dig great guitar sounds, loud and lush, with a spot on rhythm section and an elite rock vocalist, do not hesitate to enjoy this one.....just in case pick up a good pair of "over ear" headphones so you can listen around children and your boss without getting reprimanded.
What I am saying is, I found myself playing this disc in the car over and over, and as long as no "virgin ears" are present, it is a really fun listen.

I don't want to "gush" any more than necessary, but this movie is so sensational that it is in a class beyond so many of its peers. I could give away the entire story here and you would still enjoy watching every moment. You will just have to trust me, this is a movie you enjoy on a third and fourth view. Buy it. The Blu -Ray version is worth a few more dollars in dazzle factor. Long live the Captain!

I, being old enough to have seen Led Zep in their day, and also having seen Robert Plant solo shortly after the demise of the late great John Bonham. I find myself referring to so many singers and bands in their later years as having only been really good "in their day!" The term doesn't apply to Robert Plant. Yes his voice has matured; nobody sounds the same at 20 as they do at 50...or 70. Plant has had a bunch of post-Zep acts like the acts in a great play. This album is a fine bookmark and wraps Plant's golden instrument of a voice around a well woven choice of rhythms and tones that sound custom fit for him. You will hear blue grass meets the Middle East and amazingly it all works. The CD sounds like a a beautiful landscape looks; you will listen to THIS album on"repeat" over and over. I can't wait for Plant's next act in what I hope is a long play!

I remember watching the Flash Gordon series on TV after school and loving it. Not having seen it in 40 plus years, I picked this set up as a lark and had a ball reliving the Buster Crabb serial. Obviously there are no real "special" effects even by 1970 standards. This one is just for the nostalgia of being there and enjoying as a kid again.

I clearly remember when this vinyl album came out 2 years after the original "Boston" blockbuster first album. And we were shocked, it actually sounded like "Boston." As if the Beatles didn't put out "Beatles'" albums! I have read the band felt it came out too soon, and needed at least 1 more song to make it of decent length. I agree. But listening some 30 years later, it is a joy, flows like a concert, and features the vocals of one of the best singers of all time. Try and get the first 3 Boston CDs and play them one after another; it is a party in your ears.
