Happy to see familiar faces, "sophomore" album
on March 25, 2010

I am a die-hard fan of the original Boondock Saints and found myself excited and let down all at the same time while taking in All Saints Day. The plot is good, with a lot of background on the boys' dad, yet the way the movie moves just didn't grab me like I expected it to. It seemed like it tried too hard to match the original in terms of the balance between action, plot, and comedy and at times it really felt like they just reached too high. It was pleasant to see they left it open for more follow-ups though. I'm anxious to see what the future brings for the Saints. I'll keep this in my collection in hopes that this is just the "sophomore album" curse, and that #3 (cross your fingers!) is more what I expected
What's great about it: All the original actors, open-ended
What's not so great: Somewhat cheesy at times, just couldn't match the original
I would recommend this to a friend!

A welcome improvement over the original Wii Fit

After owning the original Wii Fit system and game, this extension to the original appears to have taken in to account many of the things I know I wished they'd have included in the original. The better upside here is that Nintendo did what was RIGHT and is only charging $20 for this if you already bought the original Wii Fit system - instead of $40-$50 as though it's a new game.
As an owner, I use the Fit mostly to strength train, and this is where this system falls short. While it does include workouts to assist with this, the pre-set regimens available on Plus don't include anything geared toward strength training. I wish they'd have put as much focus on this as they did on weight LOSS.
Overall the new games, and new workouts, are a welcome addition and improvement over the original.
What's great about it: "wishes" after owning original Wii Fit mostly granted
What's not so great: Preset training regimens could've used more NOT geared just toward weight loss

Does its job perfectly

I got this after much debate on whether or not I wanted to run the wires from my receiver along the wall to rear speakers, since that's not really hard to do, or go w/ a wireless set up to avoid having to do any "real" work. After Christmas I got this w/ my Best Buy gift cards and haven't been sorry. Up until this point I was running all 5 of my speakers from the entertainment stand - not true surround sound at all - but after setting this up we are now IN the movies, TV shows, and even Football stadiums and we love it. I don't know what the main difference between this system, seemingly an older model, and Rocketfish's new "HD Audio" system - but this works just FINE for my 5.1 setup from a Onkyo A/V receiver.
What's great about it: Easy to set up, does what it needs to do w/o a lot of configuring
What's not so great: To me, price is a bit high. Also sucks to have to plug in the rear unit
I would recommend this to a friend!

Keep your clothes and washing machine sparkling with these Affresh tablets. They remove soap residue and mildew odors, so washed clothes smell fresh, and they're specially engineered for use with high-efficiency washers. Drop one of these Affresh tablets in an empty washer for cleaner clothes, and their formula is safe to use with septic systems.

Great product, almost perfect

I picked this up on the advice of a BB associate. Took it home and followed the instructions for if your washer is already smelly. Instructions say to use all 3 that are in the pouch, one after another, on the hottest setting your washer can do. When this was done, the odor that was in my washer was noticibly less, but not QUITE taken care of - hence the 4-star rating.
To maintain freshness, you're supposed to use one tablet once a month on the hottest setting. I decided to do mine always at the start of each month and am headed to my local BB today to pick up another pack.
What's great about it: Quick & easy, pleasant smell
What's not so great: Doesn't QUITE take care of an already-smelly washer
I would recommend this to a friend!

Enjoy big-screen entertainment with this Epson 3LCD portable projector. All-digital HDMI connectivity lets you stream from a variety of devices, and 3,300 lumens of equal color and white brightness let you use it in almost any lighting condition. This Epson 3LCD projector lets you view images up to 25 times larger than those on a 60-inch TV.

Can you plug your android cell phone into it and play movies from your cell phone to the projector?

If you're going in to any of the provided video ports (HDMI, VGA, etc) then yes. Not just via USB though; that's out/charging only.

Does it hurt to have the RF-WHTIB wireless rear speaker system plugged into its own power supply and "on" all the time?

Certainly not, mine was plugged in to a separate outlet and always on for a number of years and I never had issues with it.

Powered sub output?

Is there an output for my powered sub?
If your powered sub accepts speaker-wire inputs, then yes this could work for that. But it does only have two channels. so you're not going to get your L and R rears, PLUS the sub output if that's what you're wondering.

all the inputs and outputs of the system are speaker wire only, though - no RCA (which some powered subs only take)

Can this be used with a side speaker and a rear speaker instead to two rear speakers?

Sorry for such a dumb question, but I had to ask since the back of the unit shows L/R for Left and Right. I do not have a problem with wiring left side of the room, but right side involves crossing two doors. Can I install the unit such that it services one right side speaker and one right rear speaker?
I see no reason why not. It simply transmits the signal for two channels; whatever those may be. as long as it can hit the "receiving" part of the unit, just plug the L and R lines accordingly and you should be able to get just what you're looking for.

Does the Rocketfish Wireless Rear Speaker Kit work with an RCA RT2906 home theater system?

I'm not sure on this particular home theatre system, but I can explain why they call it universal and perhaps that'll help you.

Basically if you have speaker wire coming out of your receiver, then you just plug that speaker wire in to the "sender" of the unit, and then put the "receiver" of the unit wherever your rear speakers are going to sit and plugs those in w/ their speaker wire.

The one downside is that the receiving unit has to be plugged in via A/C (wall plug) and is not battery powered; somewhat of a pain and faux pas on their part in the design. I'd have liked to see it powered by C/D batteries so that it could be completely disconnected.

on Blu-Ray titles video specs

why do some have 1080P while others have AVC @ 26 MBPS
AVC would seem to suggest that they were not originally filmed at HD resolutions. AVCHD is a format you can use to encode videos not HD quality on to a blu-ray disc to play on HD players. I have not seen such a movie - can you specify the title of what you're seeing AVC & 26MBPS on?

Where to find 3D movies and how do you tell they are 3D?

I have a 60" dlp set with the 3D glasses from Nvidia, it's fun for games but I would like to try watching a movie in 3D, but I am not sure where I could by the special DVDs/blurays for it, since they have to have a special format for the player to display them in 3D
If these are the "old" red/blue glasses, then no. If these are powered, Active Scan glasses, then there's a good chance you'll be able to use them w/ the new equipment. I do not yet know of any movies out in 3D, but the players do exist as I'm sure you already know. Early indications say that you will have to have glasses that match your 3d SET in order for it to work (panasonic glasses -> panasonic TV, etc). Your DLP set is likely not the new 3d standard that has been developed, so I don't think you can expect to see 3d content from the players/movies that are coming out on it.
