Stylish and Practical

Exposing the magsafe in a stylish way is great. I can leave my case on while charging w/ my magsafe stand with no issues whatsoever.
The case strikes a nice balance with its grip. It's not too slippery, thanks to a slightly textured surface, but not too grippy either. Holding my iPhone 15 Pro feels secure without feeling like I'm holding onto sandpaper.
It fits like a glove and with the MagSafe compatibility, I can snap on accessories without taking it off. No fumbling around with this case. I've already added an external battery & never have an issue with it falling off while charging my phone at the same time.
The iridescent finish is a head-turner. It adds a bit of flair to my phone without going overboard. The slim design keeps my iPhone looking sleek, though it can attract fingerprints, but a quick wipe does the trick.
In a nutshell, the ZAGG Milan Snap case for the iPhone 15 Pro strikes a great balance between style and practicality. It feels good in the hand, fits perfectly, and looks slick. Highly recommended for anyone who wants both protection and pizzazz for their iPhone.

Easy application, solid results
on October 19, 2023
Posted by: bc3tech
Zagg continues to be the premium screen protection provider in my household. The focus they now put on making it as easy as possible for you to apply your protector without throwing your hands in the air and having to buy another one has been a most welcome pivot in the industry.
This protector comes with *everything* you need! You get an alignment frame, alcohol wipes, and a microfiber cloth. The frame has two holes at the top and bottom which you align with the screen during application and then simply press on, and peel off the outer layer. DONE!
It really couldn't be any simpler than Zagg has made it, and the screen is invisible to the naked eye, especially if you add a case to your iPhone afterward. If you don't, there will be a small ridge around the entire edge of your screen, but it's hardly an eyesore.
Don't let the picture fool you, though, there's no color variation or gradient present on the glass itself, so you're still left with the great-looking screen you paid for!!!

High-Performance Laptop with Room for Improvement

Everything on this computer runs smoothly, I was able to crank up the graphics settings on Valorant to the max, and it ran the same as before.
The higher hertz (120hz) was definitely noticeable compared to the old 60hz I was running on.
The Nvidia graphics card is nice since it comes with all the Nvidia software that can be used for clipping gameplay.
My only major complaint about this computer is the lack of RAM, as it only has 8GB of RAM. This has definitely been noticeable in gameplay, where I will frequently lag when I did not lag on my old computer. Where I notice this most is when I try to open a third-party Minecraft client that I use a lot. On my old computer, the 16GB of RAM would let me have both Valorant and this Minecraft client open at the same time, while on this computer, I can’t even open the client and it crashes once fully loaded, because of this I usually have to switch which computer I am using depending on what game I want to play - Valorant on this computer, Minecraft on the other - which is really inconvenient considering I have to plug everything in again. I do know that the RAM is upgradeable, and I will be upgrading it soon, but the lack of it that comes with the PC is definitely annoying. Overall, a pretty good computer, and the change of graphics and smoothness of my gameplay are noticeable in a good way, on the other hand, the lack of RAM that comes with the computer is noticeable in a bad way, but is upgradeable so the issue can be solved for an extra $30-$100 depending on how much you want/need.

Goes through supplies rapidly

If you get this unit with plans to use it regularly, or on areas larger than ~10ft x 10ft, purchase additional cleaning mixture now.
After doing a 10x10 area rug in one room and a bedroom that likely amounts to the same sqft, I am completely out of the main cleaning solution - which only lasted 2 full tanks.
That said, the unit did a great job of cleaning these areas and I greatly appreciated the ability to change it to a "quick dry" mode which does suction only, ensuring I got the carpets as dry as possible before resuming use of the room.
The handheld attachment with the oxy-based solution worked well to clean up spots on my couch and a couple of places my dog had dirtied up on the carpets. The stains/marks all came out with ease. I do wish, however, that I could use the oxy solution in the main tank for some extra cleaning power.
I did have some issues w/ the unit while using it on carpets where the suction wasn't pulling the soap/liquid back out but realized it must've been operator error after I took apart the front brush area for cleaning; must not have put it back tightly/completely so the suction couldn't function properly.
Hose & cord management is also good, which I appreciate from a design perspective.

Initial hiccups but enjoying it now
on October 4, 2023
Posted by: bc3tech
My Litra had some initial software issues after installing Logitech's GHub software. It wouldn't show me any UI or control capabilities for my Litra and when I did have it working for a few minutes, didn't detect the Litra at all. However, I ended up contacting customer support and they walked me through some quite low-level clearing-out of the Software followed by a reinstall. After this, things are working well.
The device itself is *very* sleek which I appreciate, and - at its maximum height - sits enough over my 24" ultrawide monitor that it lights up my face decently when I'm on camera.
Controls for the light via the GHub software are intuitive and offer a very wide variety of customization options. However, the simple ability for the Litra to automatically turn on the front-facing white light when my camera is in use is a game-changer for me. My dimly-lit home office is no longer a problem! Now when I take a conference call the light turns on automatically and shuts off when I'm finished. PERFECTION.
I also appreciate the Litra is able to be used completely via Bluetooth so it doesn't take up another USB port on my system and add another set of cords to my desktop. The built-in cord management also makes keeping the aesthetic pleasant easy.

Beautiful sound! Mediocre app, confusing setup
on September 16, 2023
Posted by: bc3tech
This unit was exactly what I wanted in my home - a compact unit with room-filling sound. Its output is more than enough to fill my large front room, even positioned in a corner. Auto-setup allows it to accurately detect its positioning, the size of the room, etc. and adjust its audio output accordingly.
I had some initial struggles getting the unit set up. This was the first time I'd ever done a device setup through Google Home but it eventually worked. Along the way, however, it complained that it couldn't see the device on my network or that it couldn't detect it. When I simply exited setup, there it was - perfectly fine. It's also a bit cumbersome that I couldn't get it wired up on my guest network but had to instead put it on my main one.
The app used to control the device is very rudimentary with a lacking UI and unintuitive controls. However, poke around long enough and you'll eventually figure out that you can make quick work of changing from FM to Spotify to play whatever you want whenever you want.
Controlling the device from Google Home is simply for Volume, but oftentimes that's enough, and the Home app makes it quick to get to.
It's worth noting that even though this device connects to Wifi, it doesn't appear as though it streams - at least from Spotify - directly; but rather you cast the audio from your Phone to the device.
All-in-all, it's a great device, but I wouldn't want to give it to somebody without technical expertise if the plan is to use one's phone to control it and/or stream audio. The included remote makes using it for FM/CD very easy.

Fun & Innovative - easy to use, some design flaws
on September 16, 2023
Posted by: bc3tech
I'd never been one to crave sparkling water but now it's part of my daily routine after getting the Ninja Thirsti. Specifically, the fact they have energy & vitamin variants for their flavorings means I no longer have to use other flavor enhancers and also get it refreshing carbonation!
The flavor variety pack I received in my unit had far too many 'Splash' variants, though, which nobody in my household likes as they do not offer enough flavor to counteract the distinct taste of CO2 infused water. That said, the Hydrate, Vitamin, and Energy ones have all been hits! I use Vitamin or Energy as my first drink in the morning and then Vitamin throughout the day.
The unit prepares drinks in 6oz increments, up to 24oz at a time, which takes right around 30s per 6oz.
My primary complaints on the unit are regarding the design of the water supply. The canisters you get are only 48 ounces which means you're constantly filling them. And, since cold water is recommended for best results, you have to figure out how to make that happen as well. However, since there are 2 water canisters in the box, you can always have one full & chilling in the fridge then swap them out as needed.
The water canisters themselves have been the biggest source of disappointment for me; the lid does not *secure* on to the top but rather just sits there. So, if you move too quickly, water spills everywhere. Fill them too full and put them in the door of your fridge? The sloshing movement from the door will mean you're cleaning that up. Forget that the lid isn't secured/sealed and flip the thing upside down while swapping? Get a mop. They would do well to resolve this flaw in the next iteration and create a system without a loose-open top.

Dead simple setup, good service, reliable
on September 5, 2023
Posted by: bc3tech
The SimpliSafe 17-piece Alarm Starter Kit is a testament to the modern-day home security system's simplicity and effectiveness. Here's a breakdown of what I found particularly noteworthy:
1. Easy Installation and Setup: The entire system is thoughtfully designed for the everyday homeowner. I appreciated the lack of convoluted setups and was pleasantly surprised by how straightforward it was to get every piece up and running. The guidance provided ensures that even those with limited tech experience can have the system operational in no time.
2. Fast, Fluid App: In an age where we depend on apps for almost everything, SimpliSafe doesn't disappoint. The app is intuitive, easy to navigate, and most importantly, fast and fluid. Adjusting settings, monitoring your home, or even just doing a quick system check is a breeze.
3. Reliable Alerts: The main function of any alarm system is to alert its users of potential threats, and this kit does that flawlessly. The alerts come in swiftly and are consistent, ensuring peace of mind at all times.
4. Comprehensive Pieces: The 17 pieces that come in this starter kit are comprehensive, ensuring almost every possible vulnerability in a typical home is covered. It's evident that a lot of thought went into deciding what to include in this kit, making it suitable for a wide range of houses, big or small.
5. Sensible pricing: I had become accustomed to being nickel-and-dimed from the other services I used to monitor my home; charging per-camera, per add-on device, etc. But SimpliSafe rolls this all into one solution and doesn't charge you for adding more to your system. Now to convert all my other home monitoring solutions over! :D
One Suggestion for Improvement: The system's "home" setting, typically used while residents are sleeping, could be more intuitively named. A title like "night" or the addition of a third configurable option would give users a clearer sense of its intended purpose and use-case. This isn’t a dealbreaker by any means, but a small tweak could make the system even more user-friendly.
**Conclusion:** The SimpliSafe 17-piece Alarm Starter Kit strikes a balance between comprehensive security coverage and user-friendliness. While there's a minor naming convention that could be improved upon, overall, this kit provides homeowners with an efficient, reliable, and easy-to-use security solution. Highly recommended!

First electric mower, love it!
on June 17, 2023
Posted by: bc3tech
This is my first electric mower and I was stoked to get it. I've had a gas-powered mower from Sears for nearly 15 years and it was starting to show signs of aging, though still worked great for me.
That said, I was tired of the hassle of filling up gas cans, having to drain the gas at the end of the season, filter maintenance, etc. and had been eyeing an electric mower as my next purchase. I have a *very* small yard - only about 400sqft to mow - so electric just makes sense for me. I've used this mower a couple of times already and the battery meter hasn't even decreased from "full".
Starting the mower is dead-simple and I thoroughly appreciate the fact that it has a key to it so I don't have to worry about my younger kids accidentally starting the mower (something you don't really have to worry about with a pull-start gasser).
"Turbo" mode simply revs the motor higher so the blade spins faster and, again since power consumption isn't really a concern for my tiny lawn, I have this on all the time.
The self-propel works great and is tunable with a switch right under the handle.
Couple of things I wish were different:
1. Putting on/taking off the mow bag is a two-hand job as there is no mechanism to hold the flap open for you; my last mower had a pretty convenient "catch" to afford this.
2. There's no cleaning mechanism. Lots of mowers have a way to attach a garden hose so you can run the blade with water spraying into the mow area; this doesn't have that so I'm not looking forward to having to manually clean this every so often.
Other than those two things, great unit so far!

An absolute beast
on June 3, 2023
Posted by: bc3tech
I'm not too sure what to say, this laptop is an absolute beast. I was able to easily run a variety of games at maximum performance using their highest graphics settings. Playing Forza Horizon 5 using the EXTREME Preset and native resolution, I was hovering around the 110-140 FPS range. Playing Battlefield V with the highest graphics preset and ray-tracing on the laptop's native display resolution I got ~110 FPS. Playing CS:GO on maximum graphics I was getting around ~350 FPS consistently. While playing osu!lazer on the "basically unlimited" FPS limiting setting, I got around 700 FPS! I played several VR games, including Boneworks and Onward, both of which ran at the maximum refresh rate on the highest graphics. The laptop has a 1TB SSD, so you have lots of space for all of your games. The laptop also has an ethernet port, I didn't need to use it but I'm sure lots of people would prefer ethernet to wireless, especially competitive gamers. The laptop only has 2 USB ports so if you have a lot of gear like me, you might need an external USB hub. Some other reviewers experienced very bad screen bleed using this laptop, but I didn't experience any of those issues. The display seemed vivid and bright in my experience. All in all, I don't have anything bad to say about this laptop.

Enjoy big-screen entertainment with this Epson 3LCD portable projector. All-digital HDMI connectivity lets you stream from a variety of devices, and 3,300 lumens of equal color and white brightness let you use it in almost any lighting condition. This Epson 3LCD projector lets you view images up to 25 times larger than those on a 60-inch TV.

Can you plug your android cell phone into it and play movies from your cell phone to the projector?

If you're going in to any of the provided video ports (HDMI, VGA, etc) then yes. Not just via USB though; that's out/charging only.

Does it hurt to have the RF-WHTIB wireless rear speaker system plugged into its own power supply and "on" all the time?

Certainly not, mine was plugged in to a separate outlet and always on for a number of years and I never had issues with it.

Powered sub output?

Is there an output for my powered sub?
If your powered sub accepts speaker-wire inputs, then yes this could work for that. But it does only have two channels. so you're not going to get your L and R rears, PLUS the sub output if that's what you're wondering.

all the inputs and outputs of the system are speaker wire only, though - no RCA (which some powered subs only take)

Can this be used with a side speaker and a rear speaker instead to two rear speakers?

Sorry for such a dumb question, but I had to ask since the back of the unit shows L/R for Left and Right. I do not have a problem with wiring left side of the room, but right side involves crossing two doors. Can I install the unit such that it services one right side speaker and one right rear speaker?
I see no reason why not. It simply transmits the signal for two channels; whatever those may be. as long as it can hit the "receiving" part of the unit, just plug the L and R lines accordingly and you should be able to get just what you're looking for.

Does the Rocketfish Wireless Rear Speaker Kit work with an RCA RT2906 home theater system?

I'm not sure on this particular home theatre system, but I can explain why they call it universal and perhaps that'll help you.

Basically if you have speaker wire coming out of your receiver, then you just plug that speaker wire in to the "sender" of the unit, and then put the "receiver" of the unit wherever your rear speakers are going to sit and plugs those in w/ their speaker wire.

The one downside is that the receiving unit has to be plugged in via A/C (wall plug) and is not battery powered; somewhat of a pain and faux pas on their part in the design. I'd have liked to see it powered by C/D batteries so that it could be completely disconnected.

on Blu-Ray titles video specs

why do some have 1080P while others have AVC @ 26 MBPS
AVC would seem to suggest that they were not originally filmed at HD resolutions. AVCHD is a format you can use to encode videos not HD quality on to a blu-ray disc to play on HD players. I have not seen such a movie - can you specify the title of what you're seeing AVC & 26MBPS on?

Where to find 3D movies and how do you tell they are 3D?

I have a 60" dlp set with the 3D glasses from Nvidia, it's fun for games but I would like to try watching a movie in 3D, but I am not sure where I could by the special DVDs/blurays for it, since they have to have a special format for the player to display them in 3D
If these are the "old" red/blue glasses, then no. If these are powered, Active Scan glasses, then there's a good chance you'll be able to use them w/ the new equipment. I do not yet know of any movies out in 3D, but the players do exist as I'm sure you already know. Early indications say that you will have to have glasses that match your 3d SET in order for it to work (panasonic glasses -> panasonic TV, etc). Your DLP set is likely not the new 3d standard that has been developed, so I don't think you can expect to see 3d content from the players/movies that are coming out on it.
