An unfortunate necessity

PlayStation Plus is required for online gaming, but doesn't really feel like the cost is justified by the service. They recently raised the price from $50 to $60, but the justification was lacking besides the obvious "we want more money." If the free games provided each month were worth playing, I could see the price being justified, but Sony seems content to release mediocre games since they know we'll pay for it anyway. Overall, don't get Plus for the free games, get it if you really need to play online.

Survive in an incredibly creepy planation mansion in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. It's overpriced for the hardware that you get, so you're pretty much just paying for the Apple name, which is fine and all if that's what you want. I had to get this for work, and it's about as average of a product as they come; if you have the money to blow, go ahead and get one, but there are honestly better laptops on the market for better value as well.

A necessary cash grab from Sony

Unfortunately, ever since Xbox Live managed to convince customers to pay for online, Sony has wanted to dip their finger in the honeypot as well. Sony tries to justify paying the cost of a game each year to play online by offering "free" games, but they're very rarely anything that you'd ever actually want. As sad as it is, we're at that point where we have no other choice but to pay to play online.

It's a phenomenal conclusion to the series which rewards thoughtful engagements in battle, and careful planning with stat allocation. One of the best games of the year so far.

There are plenty of things wrong with The Division; however, it's just so much fun to play, especially with friends, that it's hard to hold the negatives against it. I personally enjoy it when games add RPG elements to genres that don't usually have them, such as Mario Golf or Destiny, and that's probably why I enjoy The Division so much. If you're like me and enjoy loot-driven games built around a solid core experience (in this case, a third-person shooter), then you'll find enough enjoyment out of The Division to warrant the purchase.

More of the same, but that's not a bad thing

If you played Fallout 3, liked it, and are in the mood for more, get Fallout 4. It's pretty much the exact same game, but with more polish and extra content. The main drawback to Fallout 4 is the aging engine that Bethesda insists on using with all of their new games; it's time for them to finally build a new engine from the ground up because the bugs and other performance issues are starting to wear thin after decades of sub-par launch issues. Well worth a buy considering you'll be getting your money's worth and then some.
