This lens gets you really close in. You have to be careful with focusing, because it's easy to mess up. And a tri-pod is a good idea. This can give you great zoom, if you have the discipline for it. I would have liked something smaller, though, like 18-135, or maybe even 55-250. And image stabilization would help.

This is a reliable and efficient memory card. If you're taking photos, then this is all you need. I've never wanted to keep more than 8 gigs worth of photos on a memory card at one time. 8 is pretty big. I don't know about video.

These sandisk cards have never failed me and I've never been disappointed by them. At 18 megapixels, 16 gigs holds way more than I need. I don't do much video. This is good enough for the occasional video but I use it only for photos, so that's how I'm doing this review.

The shape of this isn't quite right for my T3. It has space for a longer lens but it's a little too big for the average kit lens. It has spacers to hold your camera in place, but they don't really stay in place correctly. The pockets aren't very helpful.

This is a solid, reliable camera. There are more impressive cameras out there if you've got the money. But this is a very satisfying camera. Takes great pictures. T5i feels clumsy in its size. SL1 feels like it's missing something. Canon hasn't improved on the T3i yet in this price range.
