Have Play:5 for great room. Bought Play:1 for bedroom. Great sound from small speaker. Easy to synch into Sonosphere. While not possible to match bass of Play:5, Play:1 has good punch for small speaker and can be played loud without distortion.

Does it work with any Smart HD Tv??
Yes, it plugs into coax cable line in. If you have cable TV, you would have to have two coax line-in as the Cable TV already occupies one of the coax line-in , which isn't common. Currently using with my Insignia 39" Roku TV and no issues.

Would this work in the basement of a one story house?
It works in my basement. Stations are in the 20 - 30 mile range. Give it a shot, if it doesn't work, just return it and give an amplified antenna a try.
