This remote works well; not all features available

This remote works great! We've had many other Harmony remotes (this is the simplest one). Only one issue: the box/features say that it will control up to 8 devices BUT, this only works if you're using the new MyHarmony software. If, however, you are replacing an old remote and have everything loaded in the old Harmony software, it will only control 5. 5!!
I set this system up a loooong time ago, and did not have time to re-load all the devices and settings, so I only have 5 devices working right now (sorry, Xbox One). Eventually, I'll have to switch everything over to the new system. It's still a great remote, but I wish there was a note about this when I bought it....I may have chosen another product.

Yes, it does. You have to set up the custom buttons, but it controls my Samsung Smart TV just fine.

Does it know what devices are already on?
Does this remote remember what devices are already on? For example, if I am watching TV and I decide to play my Xbox One (and hit the Xbox or Gaming Programmed Activity) does it realize the TV is already on and just change the input or will it run the command to turn the TV on, which turns the TV off?
