Adequate DVD player

I bought this for my dad who recently split from his girlfriend and needed to completely replace some items in the house. I guess we haven't bought a DVD player in a while because none of us realized that they no longer include the cables in the box! DVD player itself works well and is compact, but you will need to either use your existing cables or buy some separately.

When my dad canceled his cable subscription and got a converter box instead, he didn't know he also needed the antenna, but this one works well. Picks up many more stations that anticipated with it's wide reach. Not unreasonably priced, but he was still annoyed at having to buy it at all. For the price it does pick up many more channels than expected, so pleasantly surprised.

My dad is trying to sell his house and cancelled his cable subscription early. He bought this converter so he would have at least some TV channels before moving. Provides a great program list that might take a little bit to load, but shows all the current programs for each channel. Very helpful and unexpected plus.
