If you don't know what you're getting into with APC, this one would be a good start, despite the album art. the live version of By and Down the River was better, if only because it was a bit slower and more somber, so go look that one up, or slow this one's down by like 20%

to start off, the wifi adapter is ludicrously slow, and it overheated quickly inside the desk it was placed in. disabled the wifi, put a small desk fan behind it, runs well enough. didn't know it didn't have a VGA port so had to get a new monitor as well
the internal lighting is nice, without being distractingly bright, and the graphics card helps move things along (even though it doesn't like either old VGA moniters, nor old TVs) so it would work well with a nice open-air desk

Used these to hang a tape light in the attic, where of which it is hot enough to melt the adhesive on the back of said lights. Wish i had these when i was routing security camera cables, since they're wide enough and have a stop point so as not to accidentally cut or crush the wires.

Wanted some extra ambient light on the entertainment center, so we got this.
Plugs right into the back of the TV, Stereo, Computer, or anything with a USB port. Changes colors, but not too many, and not automatically (so if you're trying for some rainbow effect, you're out of luck)

Brightness control is another plus, if you're using it for back lighting for a TV or monitor
it's 4 foot long, and that wasn't exactly long enough, but if that's too long for you, there are segmented bits to cut the lights to fit (once cut, they can't be reattached, however) so if one of the LEDs closer to the power end gets janky, you'll be stuck with it

We have thick walls in the house, great for keeping wifi signals in, not great when your security cameras need said signals. Got this extender to fix that, and the thing done did.
it was a little bit of a pain to set up, ended up wiping the security off the router when i tried to use the WPS connection, but i'm not sure if that was the router's fault or the extender's.
Another good point is how the extender will have it's own access point names and passwords, so you can use it as a guest network, if one wants~
