Deadwood mixes characters who prominently figure into American history, including Wild Bill Hickok (Keith Carradine) and Calamity Jane (Robin Weigert), with fictionalized amalgamations of other figures from the time, such as Alma Garret (Molly Parker) and Doc Cochran (Brad Dourif).

After World War Two, a British nurse and her husband embark on a second honeymoon.
