Very good sequel

I loved the first Deadpool despite some of the over the top raunchiness of it (but what do you expect from Deadpool). I was expecting more of the same from the sequel, and it certainly puts ridiculous humor above all else, but I was actually pleasantly surprised to see that this sequel actually went a bit further to try and rely on story and character development (a t least as much as you can do in this kind of film, lol) versus just trying to "one up" the raunchy humor from the last one. In fact if anything I was glad to see that they actually toned that down a tad (I'm sorry, but I will never be able to look at Stan Lee the same again after seeing him doing a cameo as a dirty old man in the strip club scene of DeadPool 1...very disturbing, lol). They spent more time telling an actual story (however comical it may have been) than just seeing how far they could push the envelope on the dirty jokes. I personally appreciated that...and there was certainly no lack of them, as it is DeadPool after all...some people may feel different...all a matter of opinion I guess.
The action was fantastic, as well as the overall look and feel of the cinematography. I thought Josh Brolin played an awesome rendition of Cable. They actually made a great bit of fun to watch for someone who's only "super power" is extreme luck. You just have to see the visuals that occur surrounding her luck to understand that.
Overall this movie is just plain fun. It's one of those movies that I pop in when I'm bored and watch it the whole way through and I enjoy it each and every time. Been a long time since I added a film like that to my collection.
Highly recommend if you're not easily offended!

Great action flick

I absolutely loved this film. For fans of Judge Dredd or just action junkies in general, you can't go wrong here. It's non stop action from start to finish. The only thing I miss on the home version is the 3D I witnessed in theaters, as this film boasted some of the most amazing 3D effects I've seen to date. But none the less it looks amazing in 4K, and it's one of those flicks you can watch over and over again to get your action fix. Definitely recommend.

I was a fan of marvel vs. Calvin back on the 360. The new iteration differs a tad in that you control a team of 2 heroes vs 3, and the pace maybe a tiny bit slower making for something a little less about furious button mashing (despite how explosively fun it was). You also have the infinity stone system in place granting different perks based on your choice their. There's a large roster from both the canyon and marvel side, and while you shouldn't expect much in terms of story, the frantic and furious action are what keep you coming back. Recommend for fighting fans.

Great reboot

I know some people were critical of this film as they can't see anyone in the role but Arnold, however I personally felt it was was a really good reboot/reimagining of a classic film series. Jason Momoa looked and behaved the part, and the current gen CGI effects did a lot to bring life to some of the creatures like the giant squid like beast that just wasn't possible in the 80s. Story was decent, cinematography was really good. Highly recommend to fans of Conan or just fantasy films in general.

Make no mistake, this is one Marvel film that is not for the whole family. It's rated R for a reason. Language and violence aside, I did think the bits of nudity were a bit much, and the scene with Stan Lee looking like an old pervert in the strip club will forever have me thinking of him as a sleazeball, BUT, beyond that this was a hilarious romp, Ryan Reynolds at his comedic finest. The action was great, Ryan Reynolds was at the top of his game, and it was just 2 hours of solid fun. Definitely recommend.

As far as the new films go, I liked this one better than the Force Awakens, and a little bit less than the Last Jedi. I liked the attempt at shedding some light on the unsung heroes for once vs. The messianic Jedi characters. I thought Jynn Erso was refreshingly not your cookie cutter hero, but more of an Everyman, troubled soul sort choosing to do something for the greater good. Honestly I'd like to see more side stories like this. I'd recommend for fans of Star Wars looking for a fresh take on the universe.

I have to say it's not as exciting as I'd hoped, and there isn't much depth, but it's good for when you just want to turn your brain off and have some simple shooter fun. Having read the summary of the original novel, it was clear that this film adaptation was updated for a more current scenario. Despite the changes, it was a very enjoyable film, full of great action and some good twists. There were some elements that were a bit hard to believe, but that's pretty much any flick these days. Overall I'd recommend it for those who enjoy spy/military thrillers.

I'm always on the lookout for those great independent horror gems, and I'd have to say that this was one of them. Without giving away too much, the film focuses around a family who inadvertently draw the wrath of forest spirits based on Irish mythology/folklore. It wasn't something I've seen explored in any horror film prior to this one and was happy to see some fresh material explored. Overall, if you like supernatural horror steeped in a bit of ancient folklore, this should be right up your alley.
