I never saw this series in it's run on Fox. I found out about it from a friend who told me about the fan loyalty it inspired. Then I saw Serenity, the concluding movie. I enjoyed it, and it left me with the feeling I had missed something. I looked it up saw all the rave reviews. Therefore, this purchase. I'm glad I bought it. Now I understand what all the talk was about. It's an experience you won't want to miss. Highly recommended.

Will this work for Windows XP
That depends more on the software on the CDROM. The adapter itself is USB 2.0. So the adapter should work.

Is this what I need so my son doesn't have to use a cord down to the modem to play his games on his new pc?
Pulling a long cord from upstairs down to modem to be able to play on new cyber power pc. Is this gadget what we need to go wireless?
If the PC doesn't have WIFI buil-in, then you'll need this adapter PLUS a WiFi router AND modem. Most modern PCs have WiFi already. If you don't have a WiFi router in the house, just a modem, you'll need to also purchase a Netgear Wifi router. They're not expensive and they are easy to hook up. I used that combination for 6 years with no problems until I had to upgrade to a WiFi router/modem combination when I went with with Verizon.

Do I have to use a CD to install this?
Yes, that's how i did it. i don't think Windows will have the right driver on board. You have to install the driver and software before you connect the Netgear adapter.

Will this work on an old school desk top where the wifi is highly secured?
I use it on a 6.5 year-old desktop. Highly secured? How do other PCs in the area connect? I use plain vanilla Windows10 Pro with a late-model Verizon WiFi router. If your system has other software loaded on the local PCs, you'll need it too.

Is this a plug-in & go? How difficult is installation?
Not quite. You have to install the software by CDROM first, then connect the Netgear.

Would this adapter allow me to access the internet when I am away from Wifi?
Not by itself. If you have a cellphone that has a WiFi hotspot option (like the Samsung Galaxy and many others) the connection would be made from the Netgear WiFI adapter to the cellphone, then the cellphone would connect to your carrier's network (Verizon, ATT, etc.) using up your data rates. It would be slower than what you're probably used to but it would work.

Do I need to already have an internet connection, or does this adapter provide an internet connection for you?
You need to have an internet connection. The connection must be made by a WiFI router/modem combination, not just a modem. The adapter connects wirelessly to the WiFi router part of the combination which is then internally connected to the modem and then to the internet.

Can this be used to convert a USB Brother Multifunction printer to wireless?
I don't know for certain but I suspect not. It needs driver software and I don't know of a way to load it on a printer.

That's how I did it. I don't know if Windows will supply the correct driver on it's own.
