I sure hope this ships to me...

I have been attempting to pre-order this in the store and online but no luck until this afternoon. I am keeping my fingers crossed my order goes through for this version with the arcade stick.
After watching all the videos floating around the net I am really excited to get my hands on this game with the arcade stick setup. From everything I have seen and read this should be the best MK since the originals from the 90's when I used to drop hundreds of quarters a month into these machines.
If the controls are as crisp as the arcade versions from years past then this should be a must have game for any MK or fighting fan. For those of us who remember the originals and all the controversy that went along with them it will help us relive some great times from our past. I am glad that they didn't censor this one like they did with the MK vs. DC from a few years ago. This franchise made its name with the over the top fatalities and this one looks to take it to the next level.
I can't wait for this game to come out and I am looking forward to the online aspect as well to get some good matches on Xbox Live.
What's great about it: The fact that it is sticking to its roots with the blood and fatalities
What's not so great: It hasn't been released yet and the arcade stick may be very hard to get
I would recommend this to a friend!

One of the Best FPS On PS3

This is definately one of the must have titles for PS3 if you are a fan of FPS. The graphics in this game really show off the power of the PS3 and the controls are crisp and responive. The sound effects come through very well on a 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound system and the story line is tied together very well with cut scenes between the action.
Parents, this game is definately not for younger players if you are concerned with language, it is rated 17+ for a reason so if you are looking to get this for younger kids be warned that there are lots of four letter words used in this game. In terms of violence it isn't any more violent then Resistence or the COD series of games but there is a fair amount of blood.
What's great about it: Graphics, sound effects, and story are great
What's not so great: Some parts can be overly difficult to get past

Great controller, much better then the first gen

This second generation controller is much nicer with the added weight from the vibration parts that are inside. The first controller just seemed too light and very fragile but this one feels much more like the PS2 controller.
The battery life seems to be very good and being Blutooth is very nice if you are very far away from your PS3 or if you have it hidden away within an enterntainment center. The larger shoulder buttons are not the most comfortable and sometimes get in the way and are not as responsive due to their size.
What's great about it: Very comfortable especially with the added weight from the vibration weights
What's not so great: Analog pads not as comfortable as the Xbox

Be Cautious Before Purchasing-Online Gameplay Only

I played SOCOM on previous Playstations and loved it but this version really left me feeling like there was something missing.....SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGNS!!!! I should have read the box better I guess or actually reviewed it online instead of doing an impulse buy.
I am all for online play but sometimes I don't feel like dealing with some of the people online so it is nice to have single player mode. The game also feels very slow and sluggish compared to COD and other FPS I have played. I am going to give it another week or so and if I am not totally sold on it then I will be selling it on Craigslist or eBAY.
Games like this and Warhawk that were stellar titles on previous Playstations but are limited to Online play only with the PS3 remind me each time why I buy games for my Xbox 360 at about a 10 to 1 ratio. Thanks for the headset Sony but I think I will pass on keeping the game.
What's great about it: Comes with a nice Bluetooth headset and has nice graphics
What's not so great: Online Only and is so much slower then COD

One of the Best COD's Available

If you are a fan of FPS then you will want to get this game. If you enjoy playing online for some competetive multiplayer action this game is a blast and very easy to jump in and be pretty good after a few times playing. The ranking system for getting promoted is pretty cool and adds some strategy when choosing weapons in online play to get XP's so you can move up in ranks and unlock new weapons and bonuses. The graphics are very realistic, but the language can be rough so be aware of a few 4 letter words that are dropped to add emphasis during the story mode of the game if small kids will be playing.
What's great about it: Graphics, Modern Weapons, Live Multiplayer
What's not so great: Nothing

Awesome Racing Game
on March 5, 2009

This is one of the best racing games I have played in a long time. It reminded me of PGR but with the added realism of damage to the vehicles but also a more realistic look to the cars and tracks. The controls are also very accurate with your car handling differntly the more you run into things and crash it until sometimes you can't even turn it anymore.
There are lots of different play modes and each has a different level or type of car which definately adds to replay value. The derby reminded me of the old demolition derby game on the original playstation and so far that has been the only racing mode I have played on Live and it has been great. One thing I really wish this game had was the ability to create your own tracks. I would love to be able to create my own derby track that I could play online.
The rewind feature is pretty cool although I always try not to use it so I get more money at the end of the race. The different race types depend on which part of the world you are racing in and some are quite a bit more challenging then others but you are also usually rewarded with more license points and money.
One thing I don't like about all these new games coming out is that there are less and less with 2-Player multiplayer on the same system, all the multiplayer is beginning to only be available on Xbox Live. Overall, if you are a racing fan like I am then you will truely appreciate this games graphics as well as the realism it provides when playing.
What's great about it: Graphics, Realism, Controls, Live Multiplayer
What's not so great: Can't create custom tracks

Memory

If you have a 20GB hardrive and the memory ran out, and than you bought a new hardrive one so can you get the things that were on your old memory to the new one?( Xbox live account redeemed? Games beaten Redeemed?etc...)
Yes you can transfer all of your games, saves, videos, and profiles. You will need the HDD transfer kit to do it though. You can find them by going to google or bing and just typing in Xbox 360 HDD Transfer Kit. Good luck.

paint

By painting your system does is void your warranty on the Xbox 360 system?
I believe that just painting it will not void it unless you choose to remove the case to paint it. Once you break or remove the holographic Microsoft sticker behind the front face plate then you have voided your warranty.

Do you need a fan if you get a Xbox 360?

If you have your Xbox in a very well ventilated and open cabinet then you may be ok without one but I would highly recommend getting a fan. There are quite a few, some are much louder then others so read some reviews to see which one will suite your needs. I am on my 2nd Xbox because the first one got so hot I got the RROD's that were rampant with the first Gen Xbox 360's. Since my last few I purchased I have had third party fans keeping them cool and providing better ventilation so I haven't had any problems.

hdmi or hdav

HDMI all the way if your TV and Xbox will support it. Make sure to get HDMI Cables though that are 1.3b compliant so that you get the true color to see the richer colors to get the most of your Xbox. This will also allow you get the audio as well over a single cable and allow you to eliminate some of the clutter.
