Good movie, decent blu-ray

Great movie. The usual extras. Packaging is like a thin book as it has about 40 pages with photos and bios. There was no digital copy with the version I bought. Since it's a digibook, it's more difficult to keep from getting banged up. If you like the book feel, it's great.

Blu-ray looks great and lots of extras. Original packaging comes with a slipcover. This is different from the original series in that it's part one of three movies. There are several characters that have been left out and a new character has been added. I like it as a stand alone type of deal. If you have this but have not seen the series, I recommend you see it as well.

If you liked the series then you'll like this as well. It feels like an extended episode. Never really says when this is set but it appears to be late in the series when all the relationships are established but before things start to get serious with the main mythology. Animation quality looks great on blu-ray as this was made during the modern age of computer aided drawing. Makes you appreciate quality hand drawn animes.

Excellent item for collectors

This is a very cool looking steelbook for the Lion King blu-ray release. This was a pre-order item that you received initially prior to the release of the actual blu-ray. There is a single disc tray on the right side of the case. There is a double sided tray "page" in the middle attached to the inner spine. Unless you bought the 3D version of the Lion King blu-ray you should have room.
