Great deal for less than $300

This is my 4th Westinghouse TV. more than 11 years ago I bought two 32" and one 42" Westinghouse TVs and I still own one of the two 32" and the 42" TV (the backlit of one of the 32" stopped working after about 8 years).
This new 55" Westinghouse is replacing a 50" LG that only lasted 3 years and 4 months (backlit as well).
Before I bought this new Westinghouse I was reading the reviews and some of them just didn't reflect anything I have experienced with my older Westinghouse TVs so I was a little bit concerned but then Best Buy does put me at lease with their return policy.
So here is my verdict so far:
* Excellent HD picture quality for a 55" TV that was less than $300 (I have photo attached showing a test picture on the TV)
* Sound is OK - the speakers are not on the left and right side but almost in the center ABOVE each other so don't expect a great stereo experience and connect your sound source to a surround sound system instead
* Lousy remote control - better get a Harmony or something similar

I still give this Westinghouse 55" TV a 5 star rating because I can replace the lousy remote so that is not an issue at all and I have alternatives regarding the sound: I get pretty much everything (TV and games) through my Xbox so I can use either a headset connected to my Xbox or the surround sound system connect to my Xbox if I need more than the sound provided through the TV's own speakers.
One word of advise no matter what TV you plan on buying next:
get the 5 year warranty plan (Geek Squad) - it was less than $60 for this Westinghouse TV and in case the backlit fails after 3 years and 4 months like it did with my last LG TV at least I don't have to shell out more $$ then (if you want to avoid the dreadful backlit issue you have 2 options: plasma or OLED but OLED is still pretty expensive)

Overall I am very satisfied with this refrigerator. I bought it back in September 2015 and it served us well so far. Two things to point out though: The stainless steel isn't so stainless - you will find fingerprints and other stuff (water stains, etc.) all over this thing and cleaning the large surface is quite a task (turns out vinegar is the kicker when it comes to cleaning the surface). The other thing is the ice maker. We are a small household with just 2 adults but we can run out of ice quickly because the indoor ice maker only has a very small container to store ice cubes.
Speaking about the ice maker: the ice cubes often clump together and get stuck, not falling all the way to the bottom reaching the mechanism to release them. This is also due to the small size.
The ice maker itself had to be replaced this month (after about 18 months). Apparently a common issue so I strongly recommend a 5 year service plan (the service guy who was out here told me we will meet again for sure before my contract expires).

Stunning Graphis, Awesome Multiplayer

After last year's Halo MCC was such a debacle I wasn't sure how Halo 5 would perform at launch. Well, it performed better than I had hoped for. Matchmaking works well and the multiplayer modes (Warzone and Arena# are awesome.
The campaign reminded me a bit about Halo 2. Spoiler ALERT:
Yes, there is a nasty cliff hanger.
The graphics are stunning, fluid and even on 24 player games run on 60 fps without a hitch.
Microsoft will over the next 7 months release 15 additional multiplayer maps as DLCs. Best of all here: They will be FREE for everyone.
One little downside: Thinking about COOP campaign locally via split screen? Sorry that doesn't work anymore. No local split screen - coop campaign is only available online. Not even with local system link like on the previous Halo versions. You need to connect via Xbox Live.
Oh and on 11/15/15 Halo 5 will get an update to include FORGE. The same day the first 4 new multiplayer maps will be released #all forge based maps created my the world's top forgers and then refined by the 343 team).

Great Product in the medium price segment

I bought this product several months ago for a friend to replace an old Siemens vacuumer. The Hoover cleans tiles and carpets very well and it is very easy to clean the vacuumer itself.
I would have given it 5 stars if it would be a little more precise when putting it back together after cleaning. It just doesn't lock in that easy.

not good for larger phones

I gave this a try but had to return the product because the magnet wasn't able to hold the phone in place.
I have a Nokia 1520 and it is not even a heavy phone for its size.
Having a charging wire attached makes it even worse.
Look at the phone the wrong way and it starts tilting or sliding down.
In the end this is a distraction that can turn into a safety issue.

Great game, brings back the good old days of Diablo on the PC many years ago. If you are looking for a FPS like Halo or COD this game is NOT for you. If you enjoy a nice RPG with a good story line this is a game you want to play.

This is a MUST for any SG-1 fan!
All the lose ends are finally being picked up which however causes a bit of a rush for a movie that is way under 2 hours.
While the movie itself is great I feel there is a lack of great extras on the DVD.
Bottomline: still a very best buy for the $20 I paid
What's great about it: well written plot
What's not so great: too short, too few additional features

why has Westinghouse had more complaints than all other manufacturers combined?
I just bought my 4th Westinghouse TV.
One 32" stopped working after 8+ years while I have another 32" and a 42" still running after 11+ years.
There was a significant number of complaints about the poor picture quality of the new 55" I just bought a few days ago and I have no idea how those people got to that conclusion.
When I look at what I got for less than $300 I am very happy - and the picture quality is way more than I even expected from such an inexpensive 55" TV.
Plus, I am pretty sure it will last longer than that less than 4 year old LG 50" this new Westinghouse 55" is replacing

I pre-ordered Battle Field 4 and i was wondering what I need to bring to the store to claim my game, also I was wondering if i was bought on my mothers card can my father pick it up? Thanks
typically you need to bring an ID like drivers license and the credit card used. when making the online order the person placing the order can select whether he/she will pick it up or if someone else is going to pick it up (if someone else that information is entered during order placement)

im not gettin the IP adress on the wirless for xbox 360 what can i do?
Even though DHCP is simple to use and you don't need to configure anything there are some good reasons to configure your network settings (not only for wireless) manually.
HALO fans know what I am talking about: Your NAT!!!
Give your Xbox a dedicated IP address and manually configure your default gateway and DNS.
Tell your router to forward port 88 (UDP) and 3074 (TCP/UDP) to your Xbox IP address.
Now, in your specific case it is very difficult to say what causes your issue. Further details would be needed. Try connecting your Xbox with a network cable and see if that works. Also make sure you allow ALL wireless devices to connect to your router (maybe your router is set to only allow certain MAC addresses to connect).
