Tom Cruise has finally made a film worth all the hype. Playing the role of a Col. Claus von Stauffenberg, a disenfranchised German tank commander in WWI, Cruise takes the viewer through the upper echelon of The Party. We see both sides of an internal struggle between party members and ordinary German soldiers; what they went through, how they struggled with moral ambiguity in the face of duty, and the consequences of failure.
Nothing is sacred in this film, not even the obvious absence of a believable european accent. However, Cruise begins the film speaking in german but quickly transitions to english while writing in his memoirs; a somewhat clumsy VO, but it still works.
I should point out that this is not an action film. Although it tries desperately to be one. The script is well research, locations are amazing and the costumes are some of the best I have seen since "Schindler's List".
Although some dramatic license is present, Valkyrie is a well produces story which does justice to those men and women who risked everything to destroy the "True Enemy of Germany."
What's great about it: Authenticity
What's not so great: Should have been written and acted in German

For the TR fan

Lets put it this way... if you really enjoyed playing the previous TR games then this will provide all the action and puzzle solving you are looking for.
However, if you're new to the franchise it may leave you a little confused. "What the heck is all the hype about'? The game is pretty easy to complete and story is a little flat, but still worth playing.
What's great about it: Love the graphics
What's not so great: A few messy camera angles, and bugs

An unflinching look into our nations history as seen through the eyes of its founding leaders. John Adams is an achievement that can only be compared in authenticity to that of Rome. Thanks again HBO for offering the audience such a powerful and historically accurate tale of intrigue.
A definite must for any history buff.
What's great about it: Well executed from casting to cinematography
What's not so great: Nothing

Wonderful machine

I recently migrated from PC's to Apple after dealing with technical issues which were never seriously addressed. I wanted a system that would provide stability and performance and Apple was the only company offering a machine that could stand up to scrutiny.
What's great about it: fits almost anywhere - no tower to worry about.
What's not so great: absence of a real word processing program.

From director Michael Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg comes a thrilling battle between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons. When their epic struggle comes to Earth, all that stands between the Decepticons and ultimate power is a clue held by young Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf). Unaware that he is mankind's last chance for survival, Sam and Bumblebee, his robot disguised as a car, are in a heart-pounding race against an enemy unlike anything anyone has seen before. It's the incredible, breath-taking film spectacular that USA Today says 'will appeal to the kid in all of us'.

Wasn't expecting much, but...

I was never a Transformers kid. Never played with the toys. Never watched the shows. Nothing. So when the M. Bay movie was advertised I shrugged it off as just another feeble attempt to capitalize on post adolescent nostalgia. Well, it is; but its not feeble.
The producers did a wonderful job wrangling together a great cast and crew. The visual effects are particularly stunning and leave a lasting impression - "goodness, that looked real". The dialogue, at times cheesy, was skillfully delivered by a very talented young man named Shia.
Whether you are into scifi or action you'll find something in this film to enjoy.
Worth owning.

Sweet and lovable

I admire the way Disney has embraced the cutting edge animation from Pixar. What a great match.
My wife chose this title one evening as a departure from our usual fair; mostly none fiction. At first I wasn't very interested, but within 5 minutes I was hooked. The subject matter is well adapted and the characters are well developed. I really cared about this little square bot and his curvaceous love interest. Was very sweet and poignant.
I think we've watched it 4 times in the past year and it has never gotten old. Worth owning,
What's great about it: Great picture and sound, lots of extras.
What's not so great: Nothing comes to mind
