The movies that made Clint Eastwood a household name. Although all three movies are great and include Clint Eastwood as the man with no name and the signature score by Ennio Morricone, my favorite is Fistful of Dollars. This spaghetti western is based on Akira Kurosawa's samarai movie Yojimbo from 1961, replacing swords with revolvers. A must see!

Denis Villeneuve, the director of Sicario, is getting plenty of notice these days for Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival. He made this movie before those two, and it is just as well made and enjoyable. The movie is intense, as you would expect for a story about fighting drug cartels at the border. But it is also very thought provoking concerning how to win the "War on Drugs". The Blu-ray version is visually stunning. I highly recommend this movie!

This is one of my favorite movies of all time and I always watch it on Cable TV when I stumble upon it while channel surfing. I decided to bite the bullet and own a copy of the movie and I am so glad I did. The Blu-ray version is gorgeous and the movie is still enjoyable, even after several viewings.
