Alvin, Simon, and Theodore are back in director Tim Hill's computer-animation/live-action hybrid following the further adventures of the world's most adorable singing trio. Songwriter Dave Seville (Jason Lee) has been struggling to gain recognition in the music industry for some time, and despite the fact that his former college roommate (David Cross) is now a high-profile powerbroker at Jett Records, Dave still can't manage to get a break. Things soon start to look up, however, when Dave discovers three singing chipmunks hiding out in the branches of a Christmas tree in Jett Records' world headquarters. Realizing that these woodland crooners cold prove to be his ticket to the big time, Dave does his best to transform Alvin (Justin Long), Simon (Matthew Gray Gubler), and Theodore (Jesse McCartney) into the next great pop sensation. As adorable and talented as they may be, though, these bouncy little critters aren't quite domesticated just yet; they still have a wild streak in them a mile wide, and it isn't long before Dave's life, home, and career are in utter chaos. But staying mad at such lovable little creatures is next to impossible, no matter what kind of mischief they might get into.

My kids, 7 and 4, love this movie. They love the songs, and think the chipmunks are super cool. It's not a bad movie, if you can get past some of the completely unbelievable scenes (like Dave throwing away his entire recording equipment out into the yard). And although I like Jason Lee (am a big fan of My Name is Earl), I don't think he was the right choice at all for Dave. BUT, it's for kids...
What's great about it: Fairly true to the original 80s cartoons
What's not so great: Not all that entertaining for the parents
Stereo mini plug connects to your portable player's headphone output to channel-rich digital audio through your existing car stereo. Works with most portable CD and MD players.

This is my 3rd tape adapter for my iPod - first was Monster Cable, then Dynex (?) - which was the worst, and now this Sony one.
Monster Cable was really good, but eventually it started "clicking" rather loudly. This Sony one is probably my favorite, and as it allows me to crank my iPod almost all the way up before any distortion is heard. Then I can just use my car radio's volume knob to adjust.
What's great about it: Can handle high levels of volume
What's not so great: Still got the tape "clicking" sometimes

My 7 year old is in baseball now, and I wanted to introduce him to baseball movies - this being the most obvious choice, I thought. He loved it, and hopefully he didn't pick up on the curse words ("c**p" = few times and "s**t" is said once or twice).
*SPOILER ALERT*
There's also a scene where a kid fakes drowning so that the pool lifeguard that he has a crush on will give him CPR, and then he grabs her head and forces her to kiss him. At which she then calls him a "little pervert."
It's a decent baseball movie for kids - probably the best out there (sans Bad New Bears, but that's DEFINATELY not for kids, IMO), but just be warned of the above for the little ones.
What's great about it: Decent baseball movie for kids
What's not so great: Not for little kids - too much cursing
