Solid, consistent funk album

This is a solid funk album from Prince. It takes a few listens to get into, but once you do, it's a satisfying listen, although it lacks any standout moments. It starts off with samples from 1999 and Let's Go Crazy, but unfortunately there's no monster hit like that on this album.

Solid Bon Jovi album for fans

From what I've read on the internet, this is a collection of leftover songs with a few new ones, was intended as a disc for fans during a tour, and is their last album to fulfill their contract with their record company. Also, this is the first album without Ritchie Sambora. Still, it's a good, solid effort that fans of their last few albums will like.
I would have liked a little more than the disc in a cardboard sleeve with the song titles. Doesn't come with any booklet, liner notes, etc.

The songs are a little too slow, blues/rock for my tastes and don't speak to me. I was hoping for more riff-oriented metal from George and company (after all, half the band is half of Dokken...Lynch and Jeff Pilson). But not giving up on it yet...I'll give a few more listens.

Poor picture quality

This 3-star review is not about the movie itself (which merits a 5-star rating and is one of my favorite Stanley Kubrick films), but rather refers to the Bluray presentation. The picture is rather grainy for 1080p HD! The colors are more vibrant than the DVD version but picture is also darker. The 1.85:1 aspect ratio is also a cropped version of the 4:3 picture on the DVD, so they've cut off the top and bottom to make the picture fill a 16:9 tv: therefore, the DVD actually gives you the full frame of what was shot by Kubrick. If you must have this for your Bluray collection then you might want to get it, but if you already have the DVD you might want to stick with that unless you want the picture to fill up your widescreen tv. The picture quality isn't much better than the DVD.
