I have owned the Shield TV since it was shortly launched. I still love this device and use it almost daily. The best part is, it continues to dominate the market as there still has yet to be anything even years later that comes close to the power/performance that this device has. NVIDIA giving the option to buy the upgraded controller separately was a great idea, and the refreshed design is even better than the original. Playing games on the Shield TV is even better now!

I got this device on black friday for a decent price and have been very happy with the laptop. Having a dual setup of both SSD and a traditional HDD means that you have both a speedy laptop, and plenty of space to store your games and media. The only things that would make this laptop better would be having a GTX1070 and having a GSYNC screen with a higher refresh rate.

This is the ultimate remote companion! Having support for bluetooth is what makes this a very big deal. I can control my TV, Soundbar, Game Consoles, and Fire TV all with this one remote thanks to its multiple connection abilities! Having the remote use wireless instead of the traditional IR of "normal" remotes also allows you to push your buttons anywhere without needing to point it at your device, and it still works. I think this laptop has set the new standard for price/performance. An i3 is the lowest processor I would ever consider getting at getting this at just a couple hundred bucks along with the decent memory and huge hard drive is great! The only thing it lacks is a higher resolution screen. If you can deal with that this makes for a solid laptop for normal work use.

Is the Harddrive replaceable?
Is there easy access to the HDD, so that it can be replaced by a SSD?
Is there access? Yes. Is it easy to get to? No. You need to take the entire laptop apart in order to get to it. If you take your time it is worth the trouble. I did it day 1 and put in a Samsung SSD and it was well worth the effort.
