Overall a good movie for kids and the whole family. The characters that the kid meets on the island, are way out there, and can be scary at times, they all have some issues they are dealing with (not getting along with each other) and are fooled by the boys claim of being king of his people. The boy gets mixed up in their situations and starts to cause more problems instead of solving their problems.The creatures seem to have had no interaction with humans. As I said It can be hard to follow at times and the ending was to quick, expected more interaction and talking with the mother at the end. Yes, I know that the makers of the movie did not want that, it's there vision.

What's great about it: Fantastic characters that the kid interacts with.
What's not so great: Plot difficult to follow at times.

A great movie for the whole family.

A great movie for the whole family. The ghosts are not to scary and it has a happy ending. A classic with many stars in it. The plot was entertaining, with the interactions between the ghosts and the new family living in the house, W. Rider was great in her role, and was the ghosts only friend for most of the movie. Great characters, guest appearance,(D.Cavit). These acters did many other movies as well. Keaten, Rider, also the mother of Riders character was also the mother of Kevin (M. Culkin) in at leats the first two Home Alone movies. I love this movie, it is one of my favorites.

Great movies if you like puppets.

Lets face it, these are B pictures. I like the use of puppets as bad/good guys. You can see them as heros or villains. In the first puppet master they are getting revenge for the death of their master. It seems the people they are taking care of deserve what they are getting, so you don't feel so bad for them. Puppetiers I believe do feel that their puppets have personalities, so these movies are based somewhat on that. They are fun to watch and not so scary since it is make belive.
Don't like the Killjoy movies, poor plots and even worse acting !

Great movie for kids

Overall a very good movie for the whole family. It teaches values such as honesty, and perserverance. The bonding of the kids through the game of baseball was very apparent. It also showed that it was difficult to get accepted at first for the new kid. Most of us (as kids)can relate to trying to get into an established group in order to make friends. Some of the friendships lasted, as the one was showed at the end of the movie.

What's not so great: How the dad does not connect with his son in the begining.
