Canon EF-S 18~200mm f/3.5~5.6 IS Standard Zoom Lens: An ideal lens for everyday use, this versatile lens can capture a gorgeous sunset to a spectacular fireworks show. This zoom lens suppresses chromatic aberrations while retaining true colors. And with the image stabilization to help reduce motion blur, you get extremely sharp pictures.

Bought this for an everyday lens. Good for indoor use and portraits.
The zoom is decent for outdoor use.

I'm going to Montana in June and have a Canon 60D model camera. I want to purchase a new lense with a good zoom without costing too much?

Best zoom lense purchase for a Canon 60 D.
I have two canon lenses that each cost around $650. I have the 70-300mm that I reall like for nature photography.

If this is out of your price range, I also had a tamron lens that was less expensive that was also a good value. Sigma would be another option.
I would not go less than 200mm on the high end if you like to shoot nature stuff.
