This movie is a fun romp in the Nature-run-amok genre, and its done by people who clearly love this kind of movies.
Fun, silly, mildly scary, sexy, ironic... It's a very satisfactory movie to watch (and, in my case, to own).
Beside, it's called "Zombeavers"! That's only is worth having it in your video library.

This is one of those movies where everything works: the acting, the directing, the writing... Everything. It's absolutely pitch-perfect, and it's not for me to bore you with its story (that many, much more qualified critics than me have discussed at length).

Hey, it's Seth Rogen and James Franco trying to kill Kim Jong-un (an excellent Randall Park). That pretty much sums it up. It's silly, it's raunchy, it's surprisingly gory (only a few scenes, but still...), and it's fun, fun, fun.
The disc is also chock-full of extras which add more fun to the whole endeavor.
Plus, if you buy it, you show you love America and freedom — and that's no small thing.

Martin Scorsese has done it again. His exec-produced flick is entertaining, gritty and disturbing (no surprise here), well acted by a group of talented, young actors and supported by a few "veterans" (Ray Liotta above all).
The excitement never stops, the tension is palpable, and the movie is a tiny little gem.

Michael Bay should learn the meaning of the word "Trim."
The movie has some great sequences, some so-so ones, and some horrible and painful to watch ones (the father-daughter discussion on cables dangling in between skyscrapers come to mind and I'm still cringing). Thank God for Stanley Tucci, who can't do wrong.
The movie is (barely) watchable, and if you use the FF button a lot, it can be a fun evening for all.

Raunchy Fun

For better or for worse, this is a funny comedy. Maybe a tad long (I'd rather watch the Theatrical than the Extended Cut), but very clever and original. Definitely NOT for kids, but for a fun "more mature" night, this is guaranteed to make you laugh out loud in more than one occasion. And, if you're a little older and you remember "Flash Gordon" from the '80s... Even better. You'll see why while watching the movie.
The DVD is nice, clear, great sound... A must-have.

Sadly, this movie didn't seem to register with the audiences in America, and so came and went — but it's a real intelligent, amazing, heart-pumping, fun ride that will not disappoint anyone. I won't spoil any detail of the story, but it's absolutely brilliant, and Tom Cruise, love him or hate him, is perfect and gives as usual 120% to his role.
The DVD is crisp, nice, sounds wonderfully, and it's a real treat. Highly recommended (especially that now they've restored the original title and not how it came out in the theaters). Must see.
