I bought this after having seen it once and not liking it (I was bird and decided t give it a second chance). I was glad I did because it was very well done, albeit gory in some parts. It is based more on the graphic novel than the real case files. So, expect to watch it for what it is: a horror film.

Well done movie that entertains, but doesn't add much to the original. It is well-acted, directed, and entertaining, but probably would have been a great film had it not tried to be so loyal to the original plot.
