Relive all seven seasons of the revolutionary sci-fi television series Star Trek: The Next Generation, which aired between 1987 and 1994. Scrapping the original series' limited "five-year mission" for a more ambitious ongoing one, Star Trek: The Next Generation aims high from its first episode. The Enterprise D is captained by Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), a leader more reserved and thought-driven than the beloved Captain Kirk. Other notable crew members include Klingon lieutenant Worf (Michael Dorn), security chief Tasha Yar (Denise Crosby), android Data (Brent Spiner), empathic ship's counselor Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis), first officer Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes) VISOR-wearing lieutenant Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton), Chief Medical Officer Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden), and her genius son Wesley (Wil Wheaton). This release features tons of bonus content and behind the scenes features.

I've been a fan of Next Generation since I was a kid. When we moved into the house we live in now, it was the first thing we watched on tv while eating pizza.
Previously, I bought the first season of the show on blu-ray and the picture quality is amazing...though takes a little getting used to after 20 some odd years of seeing standard definition reruns.
There is a great feature on the blu-rays that shows what they had to do to restore and remaster the show for blu-ray. It's definitely worth the watch.
With the increased clarity of the picture, I'm constantly picking out things on the screen that I've never noticed in all my years of watching this show on tv. That's a lot of fun.
Two nitpicks I have with this set. One, the discs are overlapping...which isn't cool. At least they're blu-rays and don't scratch as easily as dvd. And at least you don't have to slide them in and out of cardboard sleeves like you do with the Universal Monsters blu-ray set. (which is why I opted to pick up the UK version of that set)
The other nitpick I have with the set is that every single one of the 41 discs are the exact same colour and it's a bit hard to tell which discs you're taking out.
I though the surround sound would be distracting, but aside from a few small environmental effects, it sounds like it's stereo. You can't even tell that it's surround sound most of the time.
If you're a fan of Star Trek, you should pick this set up.

After Uncle Buck, Great Outdoors is probably John Candy's best film. It's just hilarious all the way around. Nobody did was John Candy did...and still can't. He was funny without resorting to "look at me, I'm fat. That means I'm funny, right ?" like Melissa McCarthy has.
I'm so glad that this finally came to blu-ray, though since it is/was an exclusive, it was REALLY hard to get my hands on. But I'm glad I did.
The only bad thing about this blu-ray is that there are basically no bonus features. I can understand not having a commentary by John Candy, since he's passed on, but it would have been good to get some of the other actors to do one.
But I can't really complain. I mean, you get the movie in just about pristine quality. LOVE this movie...
