Don't get me wrong, this is a good game but if you've played the first installment, this is very familiar. The developers were obviously looking for the $$$ sign when they developed this. They thought oh let's change the characters, setting, added some weapons and some new zombies it will be good. This feels very familiar with the first installment with minor changes and that's undeniable. You can probably get more value if you play more online. The overall stlye of the game and yes even engine seems to be the same as the 1st one. With Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2 etc. out - it will be difficult for this game to find a good niche in the market. Seriously, if you still have the 1st one and you play mostly online it's probably a good idea to wait for a few months for the price to drop.
What's great about it: Part 2, some good graphics...new weapons, new location.
What's not so great: Same basic environment, same engine and basically same game with a new label.

Halo 3 was ok at best, mostly kid stuff so the only good ratings it usually gets (and this one) are from kids or early teens. The firefights happen in streets that are so ridiculously dark even with the NVGs it's hard to navigate where you're going. Same enemies, the usual 3 stooges behavior...repetitive scenarios etc. There is hardly any progression in story so after playing for a few hours, I decided to just trade it with Uncharted 2 / Modern Warfare 2. I still have Halo 3 but will also probably put it on the trading list also.
What's great about it: Some new features.
What's not so great: Same engine, same game and no story.

I played the demo before it came out and was fairly impressed with it but didn't like the fact that you have to stop cold while you shoot at the bad guys. After I bought the game, that was soon forgotten as I got used stopping & shooting-got comfortable with it. This game exceeded my expectations as I found myself having a hard time putting it down. The storyline will captivate you in a way that you can't wait to see what lies next. The inventory management design is a solid plus similar to "Dead Space", they do share a lot of things in common. The graphics are very nice but at times they look unpolished but you won't notice it for the most part. This game reminds me of "Dark Sector" in a lot of ways due to the over the shoulder camera angle but only a lot better. The camera angles can be confusing at times that you don't know where the enemy is when you turn. Still highly recommended but I was a bit skeptical at first, oh and before I forget they added some "Uncharted" puzzles/problem solving roadblocks which I think is a nice touch.
What's great about it: Graphics (for the most part), deep storyline, long gameplay, well conceived plots.
What's not so great: Can't run & shoot at same time, selecting weapons in inventory doesn't stop the enemies from pounding you.

Don't get me wrong, I love my PS3. In fact from a technical standpoint I would defend it over the 360 at any given day except of course I would prefer ATI over NVIDIA. I was waiting for this game for at least a year and I must say I was disappointed here and there. I agree the graphics are great but GOW in my opinion has better graphics. Early in the game I already saw bugs and a lot of dropped frames. Focusing your reticle is frustrating at times and there's not a lot of variety when it comes to enemies. Then there's this guy Natko who looks like Marcus Fenix of GOW, he even wears a similar bandana. There's a lot of unnecessary cursing that sometimes it sounds like bad rap music.
Overall it's still fun to play but it misses the mark in a lot of areas. I had higher satisfaction with RSV2, FEAR2 (except the ending) and Dead Space. I would probably prefer GOW 1 & 2 over this.
What's great about it: Graphics, motion sensing controls.
What's not so great: Bugs, dropped frames, some concepts & characters copied from other games, frustrating interactive design.

I'm being generous for giving this game 4 starts. I've played all F.E.A.R. games and I mean all of them. I was able to play the demo 2 weeks prior to the release of Project Origin and I was very excited that they made a lot of improvements on the interactive controls and the way the main character moves around. Another attraction was the mech suit that allows you to crush enemies with ease, unfortunately this area leaves you wanting. They could've added more battlescenes with the mechs, instead of just 2 scenes. The graphics are fairly good like the past episodes but the storyline remains inconclusive. I was very disappointed with the last boss fight, I thought it was very bad. This game had the making of a very good sequel but they made bad decisions in the ending. All those F.E.A.R. episodes came to a grinding halt if they want to stick with this bland and uneventful ending. It is still fun to play but don't get your expectations too high in the end. Expect around 10 hrs. of gameplay on hard setting.
I would just look forward to Killzone 2 which comes out a week from now. One reviewer was right, I had more fun with Deadspace and its length. Overall this is still a decent shooter game you will enjoy but I think the ending was rushed & was not properly thought of.
What's great about it: Newly designed interaction, new weapons & mechs, fairly intense battlescenes.
What's not so great: Same storyline, repetitive action, disappointing finish, inconclusive ending & short game.
Dr. Aiden Krone is a former professor of Applied Physics at MIT, notorious for his unrivaled brilliance and obsession with Thermodynamics, Advanced Propulsion and Quantum Electrodynamics (QED). Despite his increasing tendencies to demand control and secrecy, he became the founder and lead physicist of a classified Time Travel research program. Over a decade later, Krone's program had successfully developed the world's first time-traveling suit technology. However, as the program's equally secretive decision-makers demanded this technology be adapted for military applications, Krone's feelings of self-entitlement and anger grew. He secretly desired a new existence, a new world where his scientific endeavors could be shaped and experienced without outside interference. The combination of Krone's mind and his suit technology gave him the ability to create and control another existence ~ an existence where a man of science could finally operate without restrictions and do so within a place where science itself was properly respected ~ regardless of the effects on humanity. It is now up to you to trace Krone's last known appearances and stop his tyrannical rule over Alpha District. In a twisted world where scientific accomplishments reign, it's up to you to don the Beta Suit and master time to become the ultimate weapon.

After doing research on reviews and opinions from other gamers, I decided to give this a try. Have to be more cautious after getting the Mass Effect dud of a game. Turned out this game is addicting (in a good way) just like the other reviewer said. The story has a very good length and you can't wait to find out what lies ahead on the next level. This is also a game that will make you think how to adapt your timeshift capabilities with the situation at hand. I like the weapon selection very much, it reminds me of F.E.A.R. - come to think of it, this is also a byproduct of SIERRA. One good thing and I think it's biggy is the language, although it's rated M it doesn't have a galore of foul language like Rainbow 6 Vegas & F.E.A.R. The limbs getting torn looks realistic it's not that gory, although there's a small glitch when a body gets in the way and the door closes - a minor thing. I really enjoyed playing this game...
What's great about it: Excellent gameplay, can't put it down. Long, decent storyline. No abusive language found like Rainbow 6 Vegas & F.E.A.R.
What's not so great: Graphics very good, although not the best. Best resolution only in 720p so set your PS3 to AUTO resolution.

This game is an ambitious concept from Bioware but there's a saying that goes "too much spices spoil the soup." The programmers had the right idea in mind but we realize it doesn't take a lot of features for a game to succeed. I was tremendously disappointed with numerous dropped frames. Okay I was warned before getting the game that it has that defect but I never expected that the dropped frames occur almost every minute thus preventing the gamer from keeping focused on the game. This is sad, to think that game design should be moving forward instead of having bugs such as dropped frames.

This game vindicates the PS3's boo boo of Rainbow Six Vegas. Every second of the game is breathtaking and the visuals are so real it's scary. The sound and gameplay are impeccably designed and orchestrated. This game is really worth keeping alongside your collection. COD 4 should have been given more credit than Halo 3.
What's great about it: Graphics, gameplay, realism...finally a game that brings out the long awaited capabilities of the PS3.
What's not so great: Probably short single campaign as per reviews but haven't finished the game yet.

Don't get me wrong, this is a great game and one of the best in my collection. It seems like some of the reviewers were not able to compare the PS3 version with the Xbox 360 version. There's a huge difference in graphics and sound engineering. I bought this game because my 360 was sent for repairs 2 weeks ago and miss playing it. Be careful in crossing platforms because there might be a difference in quality as in this case very significant.
If you want this game, do yourself a favor and GET THE XBOX 360 VERSION.
What's great about it: Great gameplay, realistic.
What's not so great: Significantly subpar graphics compared to Xbox 360 version

To be perfectly honest and unbiased, I was highly anticipating this game even a year before the release. I'm mainly a shooter gamer-a couple of games on top of my list are Gears Of War and Rainbow Six Vegas which are purely a man's game. I don't think Halo 3 requires and "M" rating compared to the other two mentioned above. I would agree with other reviews that there's just too much hype and the crowd responded. Sometimes, people believe what they want to believe and not the facts. The graphics are not really what was promised, a little disappointed with that. I even noticed some morphing of characters with rocks etc. It's still a fun game but foes that scream like the 3 stooges prevent you from really taking this game to the next level. Halo 3 might be categorized as a teenager's game. Men 27 and above might find Gears Of War and Rainbow Six Vegas more realistic, appealing and satisfying. I would probably still recommend it but not to be taken seriously, maybe just to get closure on the story and to see what the fuss is all about.
