This is one of those "thinking man" sci-fis that although there are numerous special effects, the film never leaves the boundaries of credibility into absurdity. Great use of humor to set up surprises of tension and suspense. Ridley Scott was born to direct sci-fi.

I remember when I first got this film on DVD and had to not let my son, whom was watching it for the first time, see the the packaging because it GAVE AWAY THE FREAKIN' ENDING!!! Of ALL the films to make that kinda blunder. Well, I'm proud to say that the blu ray copy has finally gotten the outside AND the inside right this time.
