We did our research at home, having in mind that a teenager would be the primary user. I can say that it is more than enough for what they usually need: web browsing, office software, e-mail usage, etc.
Taking into account the laptop capabilities and price range, it is indeed a great choice. If you are in need of high performance, say multitasking or even gaming, this laptop is not for you.

Not worth the upgrade

I compared this new version with the "old" version of the Chromecast. I wouldn't recommend the purchase if you already own a Chromecast.
That being said, it is a great solution to stream your content from your mobile device. I strongly dislike to have additional controllers for every new device at my living room.

It is a good player, but we aren't at the point where we can take great advantage of 4k. And in reality it's not Roku's fault, but it is not absolutely necessary to have a 4k media player right away.

Although Roku is closing the gap, this is still the best option for streaming. The phone/tablet apps keep improving to offer more flexibility with the Chromecast.
I would definitely recommend this product above the other options available, but mainly if you are comfortable with browsing your apps through a phone/tablet/computer. Not to mention the money saving compared to others!
