Honestly, the only reason I buy these cards rather than directly make purchases from the PlayStation Store is to pick up a few extra My Best Buy points. I'm going to spend the same amount of money anyway, so I may as well inch closer to another Best Buy certificate when given the opportunity.

Every month, Sony gives away digital copies of at least two games (two on PS4, two on PS3 and two on Vita, with some of those being available on multiple platforms) to PlayStation Plus subscribers. Typically, the two most expensive games being offered are worth more than the price of an annual membership. It can be a bit of a gamble, but at the very least, I'd recommend keeping an eye on the rotating lineup and picking up a membership when some games you would otherwise pay the same price for are being offered.
Keep in mind that free games are only available as long as you're a member, so if you let your membership expire, those games will essentially be 'locked.' However, PlayStation Plus also offers you a further discount when games go on sale, and anything purchased with a Plus discount is permanently tied to your account. I don't think I can recommend this enough.

The artist formerly known as Billy Corgan lets loose his second solo album, maintaining his trend of not repeating himself. Stylistically, this is closest to 'Adore' in its hushed tone. But the melancholy found in the songs here are more often than not tinged with hope, rather than bleak undercurrents. These songs are also much more stripped down than that or any other of Corgan's works to date. But as he is quick to point out, Corgan has always written songs like these, just never done a whole album of them. Going back to 89's 'Bye June' to the iconic 'Disarm' to 'Pale Horse' on the Pumpkins' 2012 album 'Oceania', each of 'Ogilala's songs would feel right at home on almost any previous album with Corgan at the helm.
My personal favourites are the opening trio (the cinematic 'Zowie', the James Iha-reunion 'Processional' and the mellotron ballad 'Spaniards', each of which segue into each other), but there's really not a weak track on the album. Some are growers ('Long Goodbye' and lead single 'Aeronaut' required a few listens before taking hold), but I already know the entire album beginning to end as if it were an established classic. Any fan of Corgan's softer side would be doing themselves a favor by picking this up.
DualShock 4 Wireless Controller for PlayStation 4: Improved dual analog sticks and trigger buttons offer an impressive sense of control, while the capacitive touchpad opens up endless potential for new gameplay possibilities.

It's pretty incredible to me that PlayStation basically built the perfect foundation for a controller with their first DualShock. With each new PlayStation console, they have added to and improved said foundation, the DualShock 4 maintaining said trend. While each version is a clear successor of the previous one, the 4 is definitely the biggest departure in overall structure. The design has been changed to make it handle a bit better (not a huge improvement, but a noticeable one), the new touch pad feature had me wary initially but won me over with its ease and multiple uses, a vibration detector that is just perfect for a game like 'Until Dawn' where you literally have to be still or be detected in-game. There is also a light bar which changes colours according to the game you're playing and the action you're taking (for example, if the police are after you in 'Grand Theft Auto V', the light blinks red and blue). This is a fun new addition, but I do lament the inability to turn it off as it does drain the battery faster than it would otherwise. You can adjust the brightness level, but unfortunately not turn it off altogether. It's a minor thing that doesn't hinder my overall adoration of the controller, but if there's one thing I would change, it would be that.

As an owner of a PlayStation 3 and now a PlayStation 4, this has become an essential part of my gaming experience. I was initially hesitant when they announced this Plus upgrade, but after getting a free trial period, it was hard to rationalize going back. For $50, you get at least 24 free games a year. If you have multiple PlayStation systems (any combination of the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita), you can get up to 72 free games a year. Considering a full-priced physical game is typically $60 and even independent digital titles usually start only as low as $10, this is just an unrivaled deal in gaming as far as I'm aware. In addition to the free games, you also get more and bigger discounts on digitally released games across all three aforementioned platforms. I strongly recommend this to anyone with or planning to buy a PlayStation system.
