I purchased this adapter mostly for testing. Lots of iPhones in my family that are not 7 or 8 series.
I can verify it is compatible all the way back to iPhone 5C.
I was a bit learly of some sound quality loss, BUT while connected to my iPhone 6 and 6S (iOS 11) on both my EarPods and Beats Sudio, everything sounds crisp, clean and terrific. Full compatibility with in-line clicker controls too!

Good thing DO come in small packages! Small, but Mighty sound! TheseBookshelf Speakers sound bigger than they look. Bold,Crist, Clean and unapologetic sound delivered from these babies. Klipsch has a 70+ year Heritage and reputation of Being The Great American Speaker company. I'd heard that a lot before I bought. These little Beauties are a keeper. Don't expect big , pounding, thumping bass. These speakers really shine in clarity and clean definition in a small room or intimate setting. It's a simple, basic cable that I use to connect portable devices. small CD players, iPod,iPhone, iPad. Mostly when guests visit and want to share a tune. I have found that a direct wire connection to my receiver delivers a purer sound than streaming. This cable fits it's desired solution admirably. In fact, it's of good enough quality, I bought two for versatility and multiple devices.

Could I do a soundbar and a tv mount with this?
For sure friend. TV would mount on the included tiltlable brackets, and you could put the sound bar below that on the first shelf, plus other stuff on shelves below. I'd suggest having two strong friends over to hold the TV while you secure the screws in the included mounting brackets. Be careful not to exceed the size limitations of the TV, it will be top heavy and hang out a bit on the sides. Don't want the whole thing toppling over on you.Take safety pecaussion, Be safe, and don't rush the time needed to assemble it.

Can these speakers be hooked up to a Mac desktop computer?
Yes. I do it with my MacBook Pro every day. You will need a cable and a 2-channell Receiver minimum. I chose items below. Working very well and sound is astounding! With two of those cables, you can also hook up your iPod, iPad through their headphone jacks.
