John Pasquin's holiday comedy The Santa Clause comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. Spanish subtitles are accessible, and the English soundtrack is closed captioned. Supplemental materials include a trivia game and a pair of featurettes. Those with a DVD-ROM drive can access additional featurettes and a screensaver for PC. This is a solid release from Disney/Buena Vista.

We had owned The Santa Clause and have enjoyed it in the past. However, it was a VHS and when we went to watch it in 2017, the VHS player had given up the ghost. So we quickly bought this one to round out our Christmas videos. A great, fun video. In my estimation, it's the best of the 3 Santa Clause's.

My previous Galaxy (S5) had an Otterbox Defender on it, and I went through two of them as the buttons didn't work very well for me. I was a little skeptical of this case as some of the reviews said that it made the buttons hard to push. Well, it DOES make the buttons a little harder to push, but they DO work; it just takes a little effort to push them - they push ACCURATELY. The case has a nice, grippy feel, but it still fits easy in my back pocket - the Defender would drag on its rubberized case. The only drawback I see is that the EVO doesn't have coverage for the front of the case. But none of the other cases did, either. This case seems to protect the sides and back of the phone, and you can still see most of that beautiful curved screen. Oh, and it keeps the thin size of the phone also. Very pleased!

We rate all of our videos from 1 to 5, where 1 says that we'll probably never watch it again, and 5 means that it's one of our favorites and we'll watch it time and again. A 3 means "an OK movie, may watch several times". This one almost made it to a 4, and if we watch it several more times, most likely we'll upgrade it. There were numerous surprises in the movie (good surprises).

I had a special woofer sound system hooked up to my desktop before it went bad. Since I don't listen to music on the system as a matter of course, sound quality wasn't a big issue. I wanted the sound to be OK, but it didn't need to be superb. These speakers fill the bill - not too expensive, acceptable sound and don't take up too much room. I'd buy them again.

Initial Take - Great

I read the reviews of the 4TB Seagate ATA drive and thought it would be a good one to replace the 2TB one that was going bad in my desktop. It slid into the slot just fine, formatted well and now runs great after restoring all the data that I had on the original. It took some doing to get Windows 10 installed (my inexperience with a new drive), but now the computer runs faster, and with no Windows errors. Longevity still is to be demonstrated, but first impressions are great. A word of caution... If you're NOT replacing a drive, but are ADDING a drive, you'll need a SATA cable of the correct length for your computer - one is not supplied. What I did was to replace the original, then formatted the failing 2TB drive and put it in a spare slot for photos and videos that I just wanted to hold for a while while I was working on them on the main drive. That way, if the drive totally fails, I haven't lost anything. But the 4TB Seagate is just humming along.

I was replacing another Sony Blu-Ray player which was from the original Blu-Rays. This one is small, light, and to be frank, feels a little cheap. But that's only a feeling; it works GREAT! It starts up quickly and I've had no problems at all playing DVD's as well as BRD's. The only Internet-connected app I've used is YouTube, and it worked great. I am very pleased to have this new player. And the price was right!

Loading tray locking up?
I've been reading a lot of user reviews on several sites about the Sony Blu-Ray players and the biggest complaint seems to be the loading tray locks up a lot; several have posted they couldn't get their discs out for days. If that is a major problem with Sony's Blu-Ray players what other brand or brands of Blu-Ray players should I consider? My HDTV set which I bought last Christmas is an LG Model LF500B 32" LED HDTV which I've been very pleased with. It's not a smart set; only has 720p 60Hz but I've been very happy so far with my new set.
I've had no problems with my player locking up.

Does this unit give voice street by street turn directions and voice exist numbers.
It gives you something like "Turn right on Main Street in a quarter mile", if that's what you mean.

Which garmin gps gives you the best traffic alert when coming upon traffic congestion?
The 2589 gives you traffic alerts, but only where it has coverage. For example, I was on I95 in South Carolina and the traffic came to a halt. But no notification from my 2589. I went on the Garmin site after I got back and found out that that section of I95 doesn't have traffic coverage. I would have thought that ALL Interstates had that, but I was mistaken.
